Reacher star Alan Ritchson is ecstatic to return to work days after he was filmed getting into a physical altercation with a neighbor.
“Happy to be back in the booth after such a crazy week!” Ritchson, 43, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, March 25, sharing footage from an ADR booth while filming voiceover audio. “That’s a wrap for me on post-production — #Reacher Season 4. This is, without a doubt the most gripping season yet. I think we hit our stride. Firing on all cylinders … as it were.”
News broke on Monday, March 23, that Ritchson engaged in a physical altercation with a neighbor on Sunday night, after the individual confronted the actor about riding his motorcycle in the cul-de-sac. After an investigation by local police, authorities declined to press any criminal charges against Ritchson.
“After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued,” Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin told Entertainment Weekly in a statement. “Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense. With the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken.”
Ritchson, who has not publicly addressed the incident, returned to social media several hours later.
“The curse of the Australian Jet Lag disease has been broken! Now we sing in Disney and joke about cocktails that will kill you,” Ritchson, 43, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, March 22. “And for the love of god, I did not take all that. I was joke-singing in stream of consciousness because that’s what totally sane, well-rested people do.”
Ritchson uploaded a shirtless video of himself singing in bed after waking up.
“Don’t drink and do drugs kids and def never ever mix them,” he added in his caption. “You won’t actually wake up a Disney princess like me. You won’t wake up at all.”
The next day, Ritchson shared a quote from Napoleon Bonaparte, which read, “Never interrupt the enemy when he is making a mistake.”
Ritchson stars as the titular Jack Reacher on Reacher, adapted from Lee Child’s book series of the same name. In the books and on the show, Jack Reacher is a retired military police officer who is falsely arrested for murder.
“Reacher and I are most similar in this way. Reacher leans in, right? He leans into violence, he leans into trouble, and I’m the same way,” Ritchson told GQ Hype in a February 2025 profile. “But in real life, it’s hard to walk away unscathed.”
