Migos rapper Quavo is praying for fellow musician Offset.

Quavo, 35, posted a prayer hands emoji via Instagram Stories on Monday, April 6, after news broke that Offset (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) was shot near the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” a spokesperson for Offset, 34, told Complex on Monday. “He is stable and being closely monitored.”

Law enforcement confirmed to Page Six that there were no life-threatening injuries following the incident and said two people had been detained in connection with the shooting.

“We are aware of an incident that occurred at a valet area after 7 p.m. Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood,” a spokesperson for the Seminole County Police told the outlet, noting that officers were “on site immediately and the situation was contained quickly.”

Lil Tjay’s attorney, Dawn M. Florio, denied his involvement in an Instagram statement shared Monday night.

“We are issuing this release in regards to false rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting which occurred at the Valet Area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood which [resulted] in non-life-threatening injuries to Offset, formerly a member of Migos,” she wrote. “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to consult trusted news sources, and to verify the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”

Monday’s shooting involving Offset comes more than three years after former Migos band member Takeoff was killed at age 28 in a fatal shooting in Houston, Texas. The late rapper was reportedly struck in the crossfire during an argument at a high-stakes dice game.

Offset, Takeoff and Quavo formed Migos in 2008 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Both Offset and Takeoff grew up in Lawrenceville, while Quavo — Takeoff’s uncle — was raised nearby in Athens, Georgia.

The group released their first mixtape in 2011. Their fourth and final album, Culture III, was released in 2021. Quavo addressed the future of the music group in a July 2022 interview with GQ. (Takeoff and Quavo moved on and continued to make music as Unc & Phew.)

“It was all about Migos, Migos, Migos. The three of us,” he said. “I feel like every group member has to establish themselves. Their own body of work. If not, you start losing members.”
