Summer House alums Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner are choosing a side in the drama between Ciara Miller, Amanda Batula and West Wilson.
“Obviously, we’re alive. We see the internet, we know what’s going on,” DeSorbo, 33, said during the Friday, April 3, episode of their “Giggly Squad” podcast. “Ciara is our real friend, in real life. So we have been talking to her, consoling her. We are behind her 100 percent. We would never capitalize or monetize off of our friend’s heartbreak.”
Berner, 34, added, “We love you Ciara, as the one and only guest that’s ever been on ‘Giggly Squad.’”
“This is the final thing I’m gonna say about it, because Ciara is a strong, intelligent, capable woman. She will speak her truth when it is her time. I would never speak for her,” DeSorbo continued. “And also, this is reality TV, like, there is very concrete reasons on why Hannah and I are no longer a part of reality TV. It’s one of the scariest things you can ever do in your entire life, and it’s partly why we created ‘Giggly Squad.’”
Berner agreed, saying, “I think ‘Giggly Squad’ was created after us seeing how they wanted to pick fights and how they wanted to pick people. And we felt like so much was on the cutting room floor, and they weren’t showing the things that they should show.”
Berner also gave Miller, 30, a shoutout as someone she was allegedly “supposed to be beefing with” when they first met on Summer House in 2020.
“And the second I met her, I looked in the eye, and we were like, ‘I love you.’ You love cats. I f*** with you,” Berner added.
DeSorbo concluded, “We really do know the importance of female friendships. When I was going through a breakup, I think I called Hannah one day, and I was just like, ‘Thanks for letting me talk about this same situation for the past seven months and going over it again with me.’ We are real friends.”
Batula, 34, and Wilson, 31, made headlines in early March when reports surfaced that the pair had begun dating. The relationship rumors stirred up controversy, as Miller — Batula’s best friend and Summer House costar — dated Wilson in 2023. (A source has since exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping that Miller and Wilson “hooked up recently, about three to four weeks ago.” The insider added that Miller “didn’t know anything” about Batula.)
Batula and Wilson confirmed their romance in a joint statement on Tuesday, March 31.
“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care,” the pair said, adding that they never intended to hide their relationship.
“We wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling,” Batula and Wilson added. “We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
The relationship confirmation came three months after Batula announced her split from husband and fellow Summer House star Kyle Cooke after four years of marriage.
