Forget popsicles and BBQ food from the grill: This summer, Oreo has upped the snack game with the release of Key Lime Pie Oreos. Making the treat even more authentic? The lime-flavored creme is sandwiched between graham cracker cookies.
A rep for Oreo confirmed the snack brand's latest offering to Luxury Handbag Shopping on Wednesday, July 9, but advised Oreo fans to act fast, as the cookies are only available for a limited time starting this week.
Oreo's Key Lime confection isn't the only new cookie on the supermarket shelf. Starting July 13, shoppers nationwide can sample Oreo's more sophisticated cookie, the Oreo Thin, in flavors including Original, Golden, and Mint. The new permanent offerings aren't a diet snack, but instead an updated take on the classic cookie. (For label-conscious snackers, four thin cookies are 140 calories, while three regular Oreos are 160 calories.)
The most recent limited-edition Oreo offering, S'mores, was the first time graham crackers were featured. Other notable mouth-watering Oreos released in 2015 included the one-off flavors Cotton Candy and Red Velvet, which were released in April and February, respectively.
Key Lime Pie Oreos will be available at select grocers and other locations starting the week of July 7. Each package retails for $4.49.
