Nina Dobrev is picking up the pieces after her split from Shaun White.
“Nina is devastated,” a source exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping. “They had finally started planning the wedding and things were in motion.”
The insider noted that the pair’s breakup is “still very fresh,” but that Dobrev is being “supported by her closest girlfriends, who have been checking in on her.”
Luxury Handbag Shopping reached out to Dobrev’s rep for comment.
Us confirmed on Thursday, September 11, that the duo ended their engagement. (Reps for Dobrev and White did not return Us’ request for comment at the time.)
After the pair called it quits, a resurfaced TikTok shared by Dobrev raised eyebrows among her fans, who speculated that the clip hinted at her relationship with White.
“How do you sleep at night knowing people don’t like you? With no underwear, in case they want to kiss my ass,” Dobrev lip-synced in the video. “What’s your advice for women trying to fix their man? Listen, Bob the Builder, he’s got 10 other women trying to fix him too, and you all look like a damn construction crew.”
Despite rumors swirling online, an insider close to the former couple told Us that “there was no cheating at all during the course of their five-and-a-half-year relationship.”
The source shared that both Dobrev and White were both committed before parting ways.
“They were very loyal to each other,” the insider shared. “Any online speculation that suggests otherwise is ridiculous.” (Us reached out to Dobrev and White for comment at the time.)
Dobrev and White began dating in 2020 before getting engaged four years later. “RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé 💍♾️,” Dobrev wrote at the time, sharing photos of the twosome standing in front of a floral arch. White shared in his own post, “She said YES 💍♾️.”
The twosome later opened up about the proposal to Vogue, with White explaining that he arranged a fake invitation for a CFDA Awards and Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour at the Golden Swan for Dobrev. The actress, meanwhile, was worried she was running late to the event until she saw the photographer with White.
“I went into shock. I just froze and stared at him,” she told the outlet in 2024. “He said all the right things. … Eventually we realized — other than the caviar [Shaun set out] — we hadn’t eaten anything. So, we ordered Shake Shack and dumplings [from] the Golden Swan.”
