Nick Reiner’s Arrest Footage Released Following Murders of His Parents Rob and Michele Reiner

Nick Reiner’s arrest for the murder of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, can be seen in new footage.

Local news outlet NBC4 Los Angeles posted new surveillance footage taken from a convenience store near the Exposition Park neighborhood. Nick, 32, wore jeans, sneakers and a baseball cap as he entered the store. He calmly walked around the market as he appeared to purchase a beverage.

After walking out of the store, Nick crossed the street. As he continued walking, several police cars arrived and surrounded him. Nick put his hands up when confronted by the authorities.

Rob and Michele were found dead at their Brentwood, California, home on Sunday, December 14. They were 78 and 70, respectively.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” a spokesperson for the Reiner family said in a statement to Variety at the time. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”

Rob and Michele’s official cause of death was due to “multiple sharp force injuries.” Their deaths were ruled as a homicide.

Luxury Handbag Shopping confirmed on Monday, December 15, that Nick was arrested on a murder charge. According to the Los Angeles Police Department Parker City Jail, Nick is being held without bail.

Nick was later charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He faces life in prison without parole or the death penalty if convicted, and his arraignment is set for January 7, 2026.

In addition to Nick, Rob and Michele shared kids Jake, 34, and Romy, 27. Rob also adopted daughter Tracy, 61, during his first marriage to Penny Marshall.

Jake and Romy broke their silence on their parents’ deaths in an emotional statement shared on Wednesday, December 17.

“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience,” Jake and Romy said. “They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”

Jake and Romy expressed their gratitude for the support they’ve received so far and asked for privacy amid their brother’s legal proceedings.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life,” the statement continued. “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”

Before Rob and Michele died, Nick joined his parents at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party. A source exclusively told Us that Nick behaved “creepily” at the gathering. Multiple outlets also reported that Nick got into arguments with his dad and actor Bill Hader.
