Andy Cohen, a former friend of Liam Neeson’s late wife, Natasha Richardson, has reacted to the actor’s new romance with Pamela Anderson.
“Natasha was a dear friend of mine,” Cohen, 57, said on the Wednesday, July 30, broadcast of Sirius XM’s Radio Andy. “And I’m gonna tell you something, I and all of the friends in this circle, are very much stanning, whatever this is.”
Neeson, 73, and Richardson tied the knot in 1994 and remained together until her unexpected death in 2009. Richardson died after sustaining a head injury as a result of a skiing accident. She was 45 years old.
Cohen added that it has been “16 years” since they lost Richardson. While Neeson has not dated anyone since losing his wife, Cohen shared that he told the actor that he can see the similarities between Anderson, 58, and Richardson.
“As I was telling him at the premiere party, I go, ‘Liam, she is an independent woman just like Tash was. She loves to cook. She has her own thing going on. She has two boys. This just works,’” he recalled.
Anderson shares sons Brandon Thomas Lee, 29, and Dylan Jagger Lee, 27, with ex-husband Tommy Lee. The actor, for his part, is also the father of two sons Micheál Richardson, 30, and Daniel Neeson, 28, whom he shared with Natasha. The Naked Gun stars’ children joined them on the red carpet at the New York City premiere of their film.
Cohen also had a lot of love for Anderson and the strength she’s shown over the years amid her many relationship ups and downs.
“She is a formidable human being … what she’s been through and how she kind of reclaimed herself and redefined herself,” he said.
Liam and Anderson connected on the set of The Naked Gun reboot. The pair sparked romance rumors following the London premiere when, while walking the red carpet, Anderson gave her costar a kiss on the cheek as they posed for photos. When asked about their relationship status, Liam and Anderson played coy.
“I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry — as two actors,” Liam said during a Tuesday, July 29, appearance on Today.

“Pamela and Liam are dating,” a source exclusively told Us, noting that they “always had chemistry while they were filming and their friendship naturally developed into more.”
While taking their relationship status to the next level is “new” for Liam and Anderson, the insider shared they are “learning how to navigate it together.”
“They are both shy and have tried to stay private but the spark between them is obvious,” the source explained.
