Mayci Neeley knows a thing or two about starring on a reality TV show and revealed what advice she shared with her sister McCall DaPron before appearing on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County.
Mayci, 31, who is part of the original Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast, took to TikTok on Monday, April 27, to detail her tricks of the trade. Mayci told McCall to “stay neutral” and not to “take sides too fast.”
“Hear the whole story before you form an opinion [and] most importantly, just be yourself,” she added.
Mayci spoke about her family dynamic, noting they have always been the “cool Mormons” for being “a lot more chill.”
As for what she’s looking forward to on the show, “What’s exciting is that my sister’s on it,” Mayci said while doing her makeup. “What people don’t know is that I actually have two sisters. My other sister was not interested.” Mayci went on to say that a common misconception is that she and McCall are twins because of how similar they look.
In her TikTok, Mayci got candid about her opinion on the cast, which includes influencers Avery Woods, Aspyn Ovard, Bobbi Althoff, Salomé Andrea, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease, Madison Bontempo, and Jen Affleck, who starred on the original series.
@maycineeley Basic thoughts on SLOMW OC… lucky for me I’m already getting the BTS🫖 #slomw #slomwoc #momtok #grwm
“As far as casting goes — I know a lot of people were complaining — I do think it’s interesting. I remember hearing the cast and thinking, ‘Oh. I’m not sure how this is going to piece together.’”
“Even with our show, we got so much criticism,” Mayci explained. “And people loved it! I’m sure the same is gonna happen. Producers know what they’re doing. Hulu knows how to make a good show.”
Mayci did, however, share that one thing that “bugs” her is that some of the Orange County cast members allegedly thought they were “too good” for the original Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, but then were “the first in line to be on the spinoff.”
“Just admit it!” she added.
Jen, 26, confirmed that she’ll be appearing on the spinoff via TikTok on Sunday, April 26, after she moved from Utah to California in late 2025. In the video, she walked towards the camera and blew a kiss before cutting to the rest of the cast hanging out. “#OCmoms,” Jen captioned the post. “Coming to @hulu 2026 !!! @secretlivesonhulu.”
Last week, Hulu announced the spinoff and revealed that it’ll premiere later this year.
