Even Chase McWhorter’s sister, Aysia McWhorter, wasn’t expecting him to get caught kissing The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Draper.
“Every day there’s something new,” Aysia said in a video shared via TikTok on Thursday, March 26, noting that she saw Miranda McWhorter’s Instagram Story post before reading that “Chase and Jessi made out.”
Aysia further noted that just listened to Jessi’s recent interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, in which the JZ Styles founder, 33, proclaimed she wanted to be “single for a while” amid her divorce from Jordan Ngatikaura.
“Her type is my brother? First question, how has he pulled all of the Mormon Wives?” Aysia quipped. “Why are they all in line for him? I love you Chase, but it’s getting a little bit hard to defend you.”
Chase, 31, was previously married to Miranda, 27, with whom he shares two children. The pair split in 2024 after their involvement in Taylor Frankie Paul’s “soft-swinging scandal.” Chase then briefly dated fellow Mormon Wives star Layla Taylor before her own months-long romance with his brother, Mason McWhorter.
Miranda made waves on Thursday when she shared a photo of “the prettiest flowers” she got from Jessi along with a card that read, “I completely understand you being upset with me. But wanted to send you a little something to let you know I’m thinking about you and I am so so sorry.”
Luxury Handbag Shopping later confirmed that Chase kissed Jessi at a party, with an insider noting “it’s not serious.”
In her TikTok video, Aysia added, “I mean, I like Jessi. I don’t even want to say that, but good choice, Chase. But, like, woah. She just got out [of her marriage].”
Aysia also captioned her post, “Utah can’t be this small @chase! What are they feeding you?”
Chase subsequently responded to his sister’s video, writing, “Jace and Jessi made out? Omg.” (Mormon Wives star Mikayla Matthews recently separated from Jace Terry, who was not involved in the party makeout.)
Miranda, for her part, clarified in a statement on Thursday that she was aware of Chase and Jessi’s kiss before news broke.
“I knew there had been communication between Chase and Jessi but not to what extent,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Chase was upfront and told me that they were talking and that they kissed. Jessi reached out only after she knew Chase had told me something was going on with them.”
She continued, “What I never want to get misconstrued is that there is not any emotional attachment to Chase. He is my coparent. Although I do feel disrespected by Chase, I feel slighted by my friend. Chase and I are no longer partners and while I have a high expectation of him as a coparent, I also hold my friends to a high standard and believe in girl code.”
