Red light therapy, once limited to high-end clinics and specialized wellness centers, is now more accessible thanks to Mito Red Light, a company founded by former finance professional Scott Chaverri after the treatment transformed his own life.

Since launching in 2018, the company has gained recognition for its affordable and effective red light therapy devices designed for home and mobile use.

Chaverri’s journey into wellness began after his demanding career left him dealing with fatigue, sleep disruption, and low energy — common issues among busy professionals. While searching for natural solutions, he learned about the effects of light exposure on circadian rhythms, leading him to experiment with red light therapy. He credits red light therapy with improving his sleep and overall vitality.

“I was fascinated by the science of light and its effects on the body,” Chaverri says. “It wasn’t just about better sleep — it was about optimizing health at a cellular level. That’s when I knew I had to bring this technology to a wider audience.”

At the time, red light therapy was largely inaccessible due to high costs and bulky equipment. Chaverri aimed to bridge that gap by creating powerful yet affordable devices, such as the MitoPRO 300X for home use and the MitoPRO Mobile for on-the-go therapy.

“Our goal was to provide high-quality devices at a price point that made sense,” Chaverri says. “Other companies were either overpricing their products or compromising on power and effectiveness. We knew we could do better.”

Mito Red Light devices use specific wavelengths that research suggests can improve skin health, reduce inflammation, support cognitive function, and accelerate muscle recovery. The company emphasizes transparency, with third-party testing and guidance on optimal usage.

“There’s a lot of misinformation in the wellness space,” Chaverri says. “We focus on the right wavelengths — 660nm red and 850nm near-infrared — because these are the ones shown to have the most profound biological effects. The intensity, power output, and treatment duration all matter, and we educate our customers on how to use our devices properly.”

It’s not just wellness enthusiasts and influencers using the Mito Red Light. Medical professionals and athletes also use it for enhancing recovery, reducing inflammation, and supporting cognitive function, among its other benefits.

“People often ask, ‘Is red light therapy just a fad?’” Chaverri said. “But the truth is, the science has been there for decades. It’s not about trends — it’s about results.”

Customers report benefits ranging from pain relief to improved energy levels. As demand for red light therapy grows, Chaverri is focused on expanding the product line and furthering research.

“The future of wellness is all about personalization and accessibility,” Chaverri says. “We want to put the power of healing in people’s hands. This isn’t just about selling devices — it’s about changing lives.”
