Katherine Jackson rocked fans’ world with a rare cameo in a video shared by daughter La Toya Jackson weeks before the family matriarch celebrates another trip around the sun.
“This lovely lady will be 96 on May 4th. A kind soul that radiates love.❤️ An inspiration to us all! We love you Mother!💖😘” La Toya, 69, captioned a Tuesday, March 10, Instagram video of the pair attending a church service.
La Toya wore a chic monochromatic black outfit featuring the Chanel logo for the occasion, pairing her dress with a large statement belt and thigh-high pointed-toe boots. Katherine, who appeared to be in good spirits, was clad in her Sunday best, wearing a patterned grey-and-white dress with a splash of yellow, a layered pearl necklace and a black blazer.
“She birthed the most famous person in the world😍🥰” one social media user commented. “Such a blessing to still have your mother here. ❤️❤️❤️” another replied. “She so beautiful she going to watch her grandson on the big screen playing her son,” a third wrote. (Jaafar Jackson, one of Michael’s older brother Jermaine Jackson’s seven children, portrays his uncle in the movie Michael, hitting theaters April 24).

Katherine is a mom of 10. She and her late husband, Joe Jackson, welcomed three daughters and seven sons together — including late pop icon Michael — between 1950 and 1966.
In the music icon’s 1988 autobiography, Moonwalk, Michael said that she found a way to share a special bond with all of her kids.
“Every child thinks their mother is the greatest mother in the world, but we Jacksons never lost that feeling,” the “Billie Jean” hitmaker penned. “Because of Katherine’s gentleness, warmth and attention, I can’t imagine what it’s like to grow up without a mother’s love.”
Michael continued, “The lessons she taught us were invaluable. Kindness, love, and consideration for other people headed her list.”
Katherine has continued remembering her son after his June 2009 death. (Michael died of acute propofol intoxication. He was 50.)
“Out of all the people in Michael’s life, I think Michael adored his children more than anything else,” she fondly shared of her son with Dateline in 2010. “And they adored him. There’s not a day go by that I don’t think about my son.”
Michael was a dad of three. He welcomed Prince, 29, and Paris, 27, with Debbie Rowe, and 24-year-old Bigi, formerly Blanket, via surrogate.
Paris recently spent time with Rowe, 67, sharing sweet new photos from their mother-daughter reunion via Instagram Stories on February 26.
