Megyn Kelly and President Donald Trump have had their fair share of ups and downs over the years.
Before Trump first ran for office, he and Kelly were cordial. However, things began to fracture after the pair got into a disagreement following the 2015 republican primary debate, where Trump criticized Kelly for how she handled her role as moderator.
“Wow, @megynkelly really bombed tonight,” he tweeted at the time. “People are going wild on twitter! Funny to watch.”
Trump’s post subsequently ignited a year-long feud between the twosome, but the tension seemingly came to an end in 2016 when Kelly sat down with Trump for an interview.
Following his first term at the White House, Kelly began publicly supporting Trump and his policies, even voting for him in the 2020 election, which he lost to President Joe Biden. Four years later, Kelly publicly endorsed Trump and he went on to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris.
Things once again took a nosedive two years into Trump’s second term when Kelly switched her opinion on the president as she condemned his stance on the conflict with Iran.

2015: Republican Primary Debate Drama
Megyn Kelly moderated Donald Trump’s first primary debate for the republican party. At the time, Trump was under fire for his remarks about women — which Kelly pressed him on.
“You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals,” Kelly said.
Trump responded that he was talking about Rosie O’Donnell with those remarks and that he didn’t “have time for total political correctness.”
Following the debate, Trump slammed Kelly’s performance, claiming to CNN that “there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”
Kelly later shared that she wasn’t fazed by Trump’s remarks.
“He was obviously upset. That’s fine. He’s running for president, it’s not a fun business, there’s going to be ups and downs, and I know he considered that a down,” she said in an interview with ABC News at the time. “So we just wanted to forge forward and try to put it behind us, not pour any more fuel on that fire.”
Despite claiming there wasn’t any bad blood between them, Kelly and Trump consistently argued on social media.
“Isn’t it terrible that @megynkelly used a poll not used before (I.B.D.) when I was down, but refuses to use it now when I am up?” Trump tweeted, to which Kelly replied, “Facts matter.”
2016: Interview Reconciliation
After feuding online for a year, Megyn Kelly and Donald Trump came together for a one-on-one interview. During the sitdown, Trump said he thought Kelly’s question regarding his comments about women “was unfair.”
“I don’t really blame you, because you’re doing your thing. But from my standpoint, I don’t have to like it,” he argued.
2024: Supporting Trump’s Agenda

When Donald Trump ran for a second term in 2024, Megyn Kelly publicly endorsed him during one of his rallies in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
“He will be a protector of women. And it’s why I’m voting for him,” she told the crowd.
2026: Feud Reignited
Two years after voting for Donald Trump, Megyn Kelly publicly slammed the president for his handling of the conflict in Iran.
“I don’t know about you, but I am sick of this s***! I’m just — I’m sick of it. Can’t he just behave like a normal human? I mean, honestly, like the president — ‘3D chess’ — just shut up,” Kelly said on an April 2026 episode of her “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast. “F***ing shut up about that s***! You don’t threaten to wipe out an entire civilization. We’re talking about civilians, just casually in a social media post.”
