The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actress Wenne Alton Davis has died after being struck by a car in New York City. She was 60.
According to New York City police, authorities responded to a 9-1-1 call on Monday, December 8, of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck at the intersection of West 53rd Street and Broadway.
Further investigation by the NYPD determined that a black 2023 Cadillac XT6 — operated by a 61-year-old male driver — struck a 60-year-old female pedestrian, later identified as Davis.
Davis sustained severe trauma to the head and body before being transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead, police told Luxury Handbag Shopping in a statement.
The driver of the 2023 Cadillac XT6 remained on scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
Police confirmed to Us on Wednesday, December 10, that there are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.

Davis played a cop in one episode of Amazon Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in 2023. She also earned guest roles on other TV shows, including New Amsterdam, Blindspot, Girls5eva and Rescue Me.
Davis was born in Durham, North Carolina, as Wendy Davis before using the name Wenne Alton Davis in acting roles. She lived in Forest Hills, Queens, after coming to New York in her late 20s to pursue stand-up comedy and acting.
While working as an actress, Davis also supported herself in a security job at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
“She had a huge love for New York, for acting, for her colleagues at JFK and, most of all, her family and her circle of friends (which was also huge),” Davis’ agent said in a statement to The New York Times.
In the weeks before her death, Davis was sharing photos via Instagram of her cats. She also was supporting friends in the entertainment industry.
“Hey friends! If you love comedy, please come support my friend, @joannambriley doing her show in the New York Comedy Festival this Friday!” she wrote via Instagram on November 2. “I’ll be there & am so excited to see her do her show! #actor #comedy #standupcomedy #nyc.”
Davis’ social media posts also chronicled her love for boxing.
“Happy 2025!” she wrote via Instagram on January 3 from an unidentified gym. “It’s going to be an awesome year! #actor #actorslife.” (Her final Instagram post before her death was a tribute to her dad and brother-in-law in honor of Veterans Day.)
After learning about Davis’ death, neighbor Edward Reynoso decided to recall a special moment with the actress before her death.
In an interview with the New York Daily News published on Wednesday, Reynoso said his neighbor recently told him, “I love you, I appreciate you.”
“It was so weird to me, because I felt like she was saying goodbye,” Reynoso shared with the publication. “Now that this happened, it all seems so odd to me.”
