Madelaine Petsch is keeping her romantic life private.
The Riverdale alum, 31, dodged a question about whether she’s single or in a relationship during her Wednesday, September 17, appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast and explained why she wouldn’t be giving an answer.
“I am at a place in my life where I’ve been a public figure for 10 years and I’ve tried to navigate my private and my public lives for a very long time, not very well. And the reality is, I know I’m on a show where I should be talking about my relationships, but like, I’m not going to,” Petsch said with a shrug.
Host Alex Cooper responded, “You know, I respect you for that. You’re like, ‘I finally figured out, I need to take it behind closed doors and figure out if we’re actually good together, and then maybe one day … OK, so we don’t know if you’re in a relationship.”
Petsch replied, “I do, but you don’t.”
While Petsch declined to confirm her relationship status, she did reveal what she’s looking for in a romantic connection.
“Consistency,” she said. “I think that’s one thing I learned is really important. Consistency in a partner. Kindness. Love. It’s like, honestly not that hard, I think, to be in a good relationship. Communication. Support for my career.”
Petsch added that her acting career can be the “hardest part” due to her intimate scenes with costars.
“Trust is really important,” she continued. “I’m a very trustworthy person, but it’s hard to trust an actor, and I understand that. Just understanding, communication.”
Petsch’s podcast appearance comes seven months after she sparked romance rumors with rapper Tyga. The pair attended an L.A. Lakers game together on February 19, followed by the Vanity Fair and Instagram Celebrate Vanities: A Night for Young Hollywood party at Bar Marmont a week later.

After the outings led fans to speculate that Petsch and Tyga, 35, were an item, a source exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping on March 5 that they were “definitely” a couple and had been “dating for about four months” after they met before Tyga’s birthday in November 2024.
Petsch seemingly confirmed the romance when she posted photos with Tyga via Instagram in April. In one snap, she rested her head on his shoulder while he looked at his phone at Coachella, while another photo showed the pair from behind as they embraced each other in a side hug.
“Madschella,” Petsch captioned the post.
Prior to being linked to Tyga, Petsch dated Anthony Li from 2022 to 2024. The pair were friends for years before they took their relationship to the next level.
“How do i [sic] say i’m celebrating 10 years of knowing you today without confusing the internet,” she texted to Li in a screenshot shared via Instagram in February 2024.
Li replied, “Say ‘finally let this one bust out the friendzone and i’ve never been happier !!!! !!!!!!!!!”
Before Li, Petsch dated Travis Mills from 2017 to 2020.
“Our relationship has been in the public eye for the last 3 years. What’s ironic about my most public relationship is that behind the scenes, it was the most non-superficial & grounding experience in my life,” Mills, 36, wrote via Instagram after their split. “While it pains me our journey has come to a close, I mean it when I say I’m so incredibly grateful to have shared the last 3 years with someone as compassionate, smart & wonderful as Madelaine. The personal growth made possible by our time together I wouldn’t trade for anything.”
