Lamar Odom’s aunt JaNean Mercer is extremely grateful for how well her nephew was taken care of during his stay at Las Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital. She released a statement to Luxury Handbag Shopping about Odom’s progress on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
“On behalf of JaNean Mercer and the entire Odom family, we would like to send a tremendous THANK YOU to the illustrious medical team at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas,” Mercer’s rep told Us. “Your superb, round-the-clock care gave us the comfort and assurances we desperately needed to know Lamar would persevere.”
Mercer visited Odom at the facility after he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch South brothel on Tuesday, Oct. 13. She was joined by the former NBA star’s estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, his ex Liza Morales, and their two children, Lamar Jr. and Destiny.
Odom, 35, regained consciousness on Oct. 16, and was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. on Monday. Sources tell Us that he has a long way to go, and will continue to receive treatment at a rehabilitation center.
“As Lamar begins a new chapter in his road to recovery, PLEASE continue to uplift him and the family in prayer. He continues to make miraculous progress, taking a few steps in Los Angeles,” Mercer’s statement continued. “We couldn’t be more overjoyed! We realize Lamar’s continued improvement will not be easy, however his unrelenting strength and faith in GOD will pull him through.”
She added: “To everyone from across the nation and around the world who continued to send your love and prayers, we THANK YOU sincerely.”
