Kris Jenner walked away with a major souvenir from 2024 Art Basel Miami Beach — a new statement piece for her house!
“Thank you @averyandon for introducing me to @haptivey’s amazing art,” Jenner, 69, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, December 3. “It has brought so much light and inspiration to my home. 💙🧡”
Hap Tivey is known for creating works of art using light installations and projections. Jenner’s features an orange circle on a blue backdrop.
A source confirms to Luxury Handbag Shopping that Jenner spent more than $100,000 on the piece. She bought it from the ArtLife Gallery, which is where Tivey’s work is currently on display.
“Hap Tivey’s work deserves to be credited as a force in the Light & Space movement, I’m so glad Kris found a perfect wall for one in her home,” ArtLife founder Avery Andon tells Us.
The American spinoff of the original international art fair held in Basel, Switzerland, Art Basel Miami is held every year to showcase (and sell) the world’s best and most sought-after contemporary art.
Jenner, for her part, has long been into art and decor.
“I’ve been collecting furniture and making houses for a lifetime. I’ve had so many different types of homes in so many different styles,” The Kardashians star told Architectural Digest in a 2019 feature. “In the ’80s, my bedroom looked like a lavender-chintz supplier threw up all over it. Robert Kardashian was such a good sport.”
Jenner was previously married to late attorney Kardashian between 1978 and 1991, and they shared four now-very-famous children: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé and Rob. Kris also shares daughters Kendall and Kylie with ex Caitlyn Jenner.
For her Los Angeles abode, Kris chose a neutral color palette so that her contemporary paintings hung on the walls would pop.
“The art was waiting for this house to happen,” she gushed to AD. “I had complete faith in the designers. When it was time for the big reveal, I walked into the house and cried.”
She added, “Every single space gives me pleasure. Every time you turn a corner, you find something beautiful, something delicious. I truly can’t wait to come home every day.”
Kris famously lives next door to daughter Khloé, 40, and her two young children with ex Tristan Thompson.
“We’ve been building these homes for about two years and we are so obsessed and in love with one another that we basically bought two different lots next door to each other,” Khloé had said during a 2021 appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden. “She’s going to come over every day for treats.”
The rest of Kris’ children also live nearby.
“We’re very fortunate to live in close proximity, and we all enjoy each other’s homes,” the matriarch added to AD in 2019. “I’m incredibly proud that the kids have discovered their own identities and passions.”
