Kendra Wilkinson is not afraid to lose some social media followers in this chapter of her life.
“The older I get and the happier I get, [I’m] losing the pervert male audience who liked me when I looked young,” Wilkinson, 40, claimed via her Instagram Story on Thursday, April 2. “Sorry, but I’m happier shedding that than I am sad about it.”
The former Girls Next Door star made it clear she’s less focused on reality TV and more determined than ever before to find success in real estate as she raises Hank Jr., 16, and Alijah, 11, with ex-husband Hank Baskett.
“Positive mindset all day every day. Screw the negativity and haters,” Wilkinson wrote in a separate Instagram Story. “Woooooo. Life is GOOOD baby.”
She added, “I hope people know they don’t have to follow me or watch me if they don’t like me.”
Wilkinson rose to fame as one of Hugh Hefner‘s three main girlfriends on E!’s The Girls Next Door. While her love life has been a topic of discussion for many years, the former reality star previously told Us that she’s not focused on finding a man at this point in time.
“I don’t think that I’m qualified to be a spouse or a girlfriend. I don’t think I’m qualified at this moment,” Wilkinson shared with Us in January. “I don’t think I’m good enough to be a wife or a girlfriend. I think that I’m happy, but I do think I’m happy being single.”
That’s not to say she doesn’t have a little love and romance in her life.
“I have an extremely hot booty call. He’s just the hottest booty call you could possibly get,” she said. “You’ll never see him on Instagram. I will never go live with him. I’ll never show him, but he is — take my word for it — he is a hot stud, a hot booty call. It satisfies me, and I’m super happy with it.”
Because she is a public figure, Wilkinson understands that some people will always have an opinion on her life.
But in a recent Instagram post, the best-selling author reiterated that she isn’t focused on any negative noise as she focuses on what matters most.
“For some reason, I’m happier than I’ve ever been lately even with a little weight gain and wrinkles and I’m not going to tie my happiness again into the negative energy,” she wrote via Instagram on March 8. “I am a balanced, single, positive, fun woman who loves life and I hope that I can manage this feeling forever now after working hard to get here to this place. I was verrrry young when I started TV and lived a crazy chaotic 20 years of impressing others but now it’s about ME. Giving back to ME.”
