Keanu Reeves reacted to speculation that he and girlfriend Alexandra Grant recently tied the knot.
“It is not true,” a representative for Reeves, 61, said in a statement to E! News on Monday, September 22. “They are not married.”

Reeves and Grant, 52, have famously kept their relationship low-key. The pair first connected at a dinner party in 2009. They later collaborated on multiple art projects, including Reeve’s books, Ode to Happiness and Shadow, before going public with their romance. The couple made their red carpet debut at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in November 2019.
After subtly confirming their relationship, Grant joked that everyone she knew wanted to know more about her boyfriend.
“I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November, and that’s fascinating,” Grant remarked in a 2020 interview with British Vogue. “But the question I’ve been asking in all of this is: What is the opportunity for good?”
Two years later, a source exclusively told Us that Reeves and Grant were not in any hurry to get engaged or walk down the aisle.
“He’s not in a rush and doesn’t need a piece of paper to know Alexandra is the one for him,” the insider explained. “They’re soulmates and totally committed to the long term, and after all this time together it just keeps getting sweeter.”
Reeves and Grant have made a few public appearances together over the years. In June, the actor brought Grant as his plus one to the Los Angeles premiere for Ballerina, a spinoff of the John Wick franchise in which Reeves stars as the titular character. As the twosome walked the red carpet, they shared a sweet kiss.
Grant also gave fans a tiny glimpse of her and Reeves’ relationship when the twosome celebrated his birthday earlier this month.
“Thank you to everyone for sending over sweet wishes for Keanu’s birthday yesterday … he was well-celebrated!” Grant wrote via Instagram alongside a snap of a heart-shaped birthday cake with the movie star’s name written in frosting. “As many of you know, Keanu isn’t on any social media platforms and doesn’t see posts or memes unless someone who is shows him.”
Grant added that Reeves saw her social media message as a “draft” and added some sweet words for her loved one.
“I am so grateful for your love and partnership. Now back to painting! Xo,” she concluded.
