Tall, dark, and handsome meets strong, rugged, and …primal? Julie Bowen tells Luxury Handbag Shopping that she knew Joe Manganiello was the man for her Modern Family costar Sofia Vergara when she saw the raw passion the two had for each other.
“He’s like a caveman with her,” Bowen told Us at the Variety and Women in Fillm event in West Hollywood on Friday, Sept. 18. “It’s sexy! I love it. She’s so strong, and so [used to] calling the shots all the time, and then you see them together and there’s a part of her that kind of melts. It just warms your heart when you see that, because it’s not all the time that you can tell that there’s an aspect to this relationship that’s very — how shall we say? — primal.”
The 45-year-old Modern Family actress added that she’s thinking of throwing Vergara, 43, a wedding shower on set — but isn’t quite sure how to plan a fete fitting of her vivacious costar.
“You’re like, ‘Oh, Sofia, what do you want for your wedding shower?’ And she’s going to be like, ‘Ay, I want a toaster and some plates,’” she joked. “She has a beautiful new house. And her to-be husband is a minor deity — or a major deity.”
Vergara and Manganiello, 38, announced their engagement last December after dating for six months, and sources exclusively tell Luxury Handbag Shopping that the couple is set to wed on Nov. 22 at Florida’s Breakers Palm Beach resort.

“They want all their family and friends there celebrating,” a source tells Us. “It’ll be the most fun wedding ever!”
Adds the insider, “Sofia and Joe are really happy. They’re such a natural couple and they already feel married.”
