Josh Duggar’s prison release date has been pushed back for a third time as the disgraced reality TV star attempts to appeal his conviction.

Duggar, 38, will not be released from FCI Seagoville in Dallas, until February 2, 2033, Luxury Handbag Shopping can confirm. His release was initially scheduled for December 23, 2032.

Duggar was found guilty of receiving and possessing child pornography in December 2021. Five months later, the 19 Kids and Counting alum was sentenced to 12 years and seven months behind bars. Duggar’s release date was originally scheduled for August 2032 before it was changed multiple times to various 2032 dates.

While behind bars, Duggar, who has maintained his innocence, has made numerous attempts to appeal his case. However, the previous appeals were unsuccessful, including rejections from the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Supreme Court.

Earlier this year, Duggar hired new counsel to handle another appeal attempt. Duggar appeared in court virtually during an April 2026 hearing which focused on whether or not Duggar filed the necessary paperwork by the required deadline. A decision has not been made at the time of publication.

Josh is best known for being the eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. The couple are also parents to Jana Duggar, John-David Duggar, Jill Duggar, Jessa Duggar, Jinger Duggar, Joseph Duggar, Josiah Duggar, Joy-Anna Duggar, twins Jedidiah Duggar and Jeremiah Duggar, Jason Duggar, James Duggar, Justin Duggar, Jackson Duggar, Johannah Duggar, Jennifer Duggar, Jordyn Duggar and Josie Duggar.

Throughout his legal trouble, trial and conviction, Josh’s family and his wife Anna Duggar have remained by his side. (Josh and Anna share seven kids.)

“It is a nightmare for Anna that she will be dealing with for many, many years to come,” a source exclusively told Us in April of how Anna has coped with Josh’s crime. “The only positive thing right now is that he is out of the picture [while in jail].”

Josh is not the only member of the Duggar family who has been in trouble with the law.

Earlier this year, Josh’s brother Joseph was arrested in Arkansas and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older. He was ultimately extradited to Florida, where he pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial. Joseph was released from police custody after posting his $600,000 bond on March 31. He then reunited with his wife, Kendra Duggar, and returned to Arkansas.

After news broke of Joseph’s scandal, Josh released a statement of support for his brother.

“Josh Duggar does not know the details of the claims that have been made against his brother, Joseph. But, he knows the media frenzy that any incident regarding his family creates,” Josh’s lawyer told Us on March 20. “He feels for his brother because everything is amplified out of proportion by the media interest in his family. This makes the pain of the criminal justice process exponentially worse.”
