Jordin Sparks slid into Halle Berry‘s mentions with a very specific request, tweeting directly at the Oscar winner in hopes she’d read a screenplay exploring women’s health.
“Hiiii @halleberry ! I sent you a dm because I wrote a screenplay about hormones and menopause and know you’d be the right person to talk to about it! Hope you’re having a great day! 🤍” the American Idol season 6 winner, 36, posted via X on Wednesday, January 28.
Sparks’ latest tweet to Berry, 59, has garnered more than 3 million views and sparked mixed reactions, with some commenters expressing confusion as to why Sparks reached out to the X-Men: Days of Future Past actress in particular.
“She said you geriatric sis @halleberry,” one social media user wrote. “[OMG] you could’ve inboxed her this 😭,” another chimed in. “Well, that’s certainly one way to ask… ,” a third echoed.

“I know halle has been very vocal about menopause research but just the public announcement is sending me,” a fourth pointed out.
Earlier this month, the “No Air” singer shared another public shout-out to “all female executives, studios and heads of development,” revealing she was working on a screenplay titled Quiet Storm, cowritten by herself and her “fantastically talented writing partner,” Stephanie Jill.
“It’s been a labor of love over the past 5 years! We have received some lovely feedback, coverage and are yearning for as much as we can get! I’m coming to you guys so we can leave no stone unturned and pursue every avenue, lane, opportunity afforded to us!!” she wrote on January 9.
Berry has been candid about her menopausal symptoms as a cofounder of the women’s wellness company Respin Health, which centers around “redefining menopause and longevity.”
The actress spoke out about her hopes to educate other women during a panel at a Bare It All event in June 2025.
Reflecting on turning 54, she said, “I had no idea that I was in menopause at this time of my life.”
“No doctor that I had had even mentioned the fact that I would enter into menopause. So I had this unrealistic idea that maybe I would — OK, don’t laugh — but maybe I would just skip it,” Berry continued. “Nobody ever talked to me about menopause, I can only imagine that there are other women out there, probably millions of women, that know nothing whose doctors know equally nothing.”
In September 2025, the Never Let Go star pushed voters to show their support for California’s Menopause Care Equity Act (AB 432).
“Not every woman can afford it. It’s not exactly cheap,” Berry said of the hormonal replacement therapy that many women seek during perimenopause and menopause. “But we exactly deserve it. … I can tell you this, men have that little blue pill covered by insurance.”
“I’m in support of that,” she added. “And I beg you all to be in support of women also living their best lives in their second act too.”
