Sorry, but JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes still aren’t dating.
Siwa, 22, appeared on ITV’s Lorraine on Monday, May 26, and was faced with a rather awkward moment when the show’s host, Andi Peters, assumed Hughes, 32, was her boyfriend.
“No,” Siwa replied through laughter. “It’s so funny to me how straight-up people get nowadays.”
Peters, referencing Hughes’ Love Island origins, asked Siwa if there’s been “a chat” about their exclusivity.
“Christopher and I have had a lot of chats,” Siwa replied, referencing Love Island. “We have never gone into the kitchen and said, ‘My head’s not turning any way.’ We’ve never had that version of a chat.”
In the exchange, Siwa seemingly confirmed the pair are not exclusively dating.
She continued, “Chris is doing the furthest thing from letting us down. He couldn’t let me down even if he tried. He couldn’t let anybody down. He’s the best man.”
Siwa and Hughes have been sparking romance rumors since they both appeared on the most recent season of Celebrity Big Brother UK.
Siwa has been working overtime clarifying her relationship with Hughes after The Sun obtained photos of what looked like them kissing during a recent trip to Mexico on May 22. (Luxury Handbag Shopping reached out to both Siwa and Hughes reps for comment at the time.)
The Dance Moms alum offered an update on her rumored romance with Hughes during the Universal Studios’ Epic Universe opening night in Orlando on Friday, May 23.
Siwa said that things are “going great” with her and Hughes, showing off her phone background which was a “forehead kiss selfie” of the duo. Siwa has continued to highlight sweet moments with Hughes via social media, further sparking romance rumors between them.
Hughes was even photographed giving Siwa a bouquet of pink and red roses at London’s Heathrow Airport in a series of images obtained by TMZ on Sunday, May 25. They also held hands while walking through the airport.
Her connection with Hughes comes after a split from partner Kath Ebbs. Siwa clarified that meeting Hughes in the Big Brother house did not contribute to the relationship ultimately ending.
“There’s a hundred reasons why my breakup happened and I’ve talked those through with my ex and I’ve talked those through with the people in my life,” Siwa told Luxury Handbag Shopping exclusively in her digital cover story earlier this month. “I can confidently say I love Christopher so very much but he had absolutely nothing to do with my breakup. There’s no muddy water there at all. Zero.”
