Nicole Kidman is strutting into a whole new aesthetic with “breakup bangs” and long nails fresh off her split from husband Keith Urban.
The Babygirl actress, 58, showed off her subtle hair transformation at the CHANEL SS26 Fashion Show on Monday, October 6, after being named the brand’s new ambassador.
“What a night @chanelofficial New bang era,” Celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel captioned an Instagram Reel in honor of the momentous occasion.
According to her mane guru, this wasn’t just an impulsive chop ahead of the event. “We pulled references from the early 1970s — think soft texture, lived-in movement, and that iconic French-girl nonchalance,” Abergel told People of the inspiration behind her chic look.
Kidman wore her strawberry blonde hair loose and lightly tousled, styled with soft texture and face-framing pieces that grazed just above her eyes. Abergel shared that he used Virtue’s Unfrizz Cream to smooth and define, Virtue Healing Oil for additional shine, and Virtue Damage Reverse Serum to give her tresses more life and bounce.
She was joined by daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, in honor of new creative director Matthieu Blazy’s debut at Paris Fashion Week, for which Abergel said they opted for a “fresh cut” and leaned into an “effortless” vibe. (Kidman’s niece, Lucia Hawley, also tagged along for the event.)
The star ditched her usual short nails at the fashion show, instead opting for a longer, oval-shaped manicure. Nail artist Thuy Nguyen told Allure they picked a neutral, milky beige color that fit the effortlessly cool vibes of Kidman’s look for the evening.
Kidman stunned in a crisp white button-up shirt embroidered with a red Chanel logo and wide-leg jeans paired with an oxblood-hued quilted flap bag.
Sunday wore a red V-neck sweater tank tucked into a pair boyfriend-fit jeans, while Faith rocked a black frock with an acid-wash jean jacket and Lucia sported a sparkling black sheer dress.
The event marked Sunday and Faith’s first public outing with their mom since Luxury Handbag Shopping confirmed Kidman filed for divorce from Urban, 57, after 19 years of marriage on September 30.
The Lioness actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, including a parenting plan, a child support plan and a “parenting seminar order” in her filing, which named Kidman as the “primary residential parent” to their kids.
“Their schedules have remained the same throughout their marriage,” an insider exclusively told Us on October 1. “There’s nothing new or different in that regard that has caused them to grow apart.”
“Nicole has always been able to be a force with work and be a constant presence in her children’s lives,” the insider added. “She’s at the top of her career, but she’s also a working mom who still prioritizes her children.”
Kidman and Urban appear to be embracing their newly single status as both have been spotted without their rings in the wake of their split.
The country music crooner — who has four tattoos in honor of his now-fizzled romance with Kidman — was seen without his wedding band while getting off a private jet in Hershey, Pennsylvania, before his October 2 show.
