Influencer Zepa has died “unexpectedly” at age 26.
“I apologize for this sudden report. Zepa has passed away unexpectedly,” read a translated message shared via her X account on Sunday, April 5. “On behalf of the deceased, I deeply apologize for the abrupt news of their passing.”
The statement continued, “The funeral was held privately with only family members in attendance. We sincerely thank you for the kindness and support extended to the deceased during their lifetime.”
No cause of death has been publicly shared at this time. In the comments section of the X post, several users shared their condolences.
“I still can’t believe it, but I sincerely pray for your soul’s eternal peace,” one user wrote in a translated comment, while another added, “I can’t believe it…Zepa-san’s sudden passing… Thank you for always making me laugh.”
Zepa rose to fame online sharing comedy and lifestyle moments online with her more than 1.4 million followers across social media platforms including X, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Zepa first joined Instagram in 2022, sharing a photo of her smiling for the camera, which she captioned, “I joined Instagram! Follow me!”
Prior to her death, Zepa was reportedly candid with her followers about her struggles with alcoholism. In her X bio, Zepa wrote in a translated message, “I’m just chilling on YouTube, drinking some booze and stuff.”
In her last post via X, Zepa seemingly opened up about suffering from “alcohol dependency.”
“It seems that the average lifespan for alcohol dependency is around 50 years old…Have I already passed the halfway mark…?” she wrote via X, before uploading a separate post that read, “By the way, Zepa Jiijii (who says ‘If you guys drink that much booze, you’ll kick the bucket at 4!’ while drinking more than anyone else and being invincible) is 80 years old.”
Users have since taken to the comments section to weigh in on this post after Zepa’s death.
“This being the last post feels kinda ominous…Please let it just be a joke,” one translated comment read, while another added, “It might be too soon, but I wanted you to live longer.
We’ll live on for your share too, so please rest easy, drink lots of booze over there, and take it slow.”
