Utah influencer Kateka Goodman is asking for her online community’s support as one of her children experiences a mysterious health setback.
“It has been a long night for Jack, who has been readmitted to the ICU due to breathing issues,” Goodman wrote via Instagram on Sunday, January 4. “Loads of tests, X-rays, and medications are being used to help identify the problem, but no answers or relief have been found yet. Please keep praying for Jack. Thank you. ❤️🩹.”
The health update comes nearly a month after Goodman and Jack were injured in a car accident.
The mother-son duo each experienced concussions, while Jack had a laceration on his eyelid, a small brain bleed and a cervical spine injury. He was “life flighted” to a children’s hospital to receive care.
“I share this to ask for prayers for my little baby,” she wrote via Instagram on December 9, 2025. “Please pray for answers and healing and a smooth recovery. He is wiggling all limbs so that’s a good sign. They will need to keep him in the hospital for a few days at minimum.”
In the weeks that followed, Goodman — who also shares son Henry with her husband, Stuart — shared health updates on Jack as he recovered from surgery and fought for more strength.
“I keep thinking I’m in hell. Seeing him like this is a literal nightmare,” Goodman shared via Instagram on December 14 from a hospital room. “But, we have angels (nurses, family friends, support system — online too) trying to help pull us from this hell. Thank you for being one of the angels, and for praying that we can get our baby back to normal one day. Please keep praying for Jack.”
While Goodman has chosen not to go into the details of the crash “because things are currently ongoing with insurances,” she shared photos from the incident on Christmas Day.

“I have felt so very mortal these last few weeks and it has changed my perspective on so much,” she shared via Instagram at the time. “Life is precious, don’t give thought to people who drag you down, let the kids cuddle/sleep in bed with you, do your best to be good to your body, wear the seatbelts (and helmets and take advantage of safety things out there), and love big.”
Goodman has developed a following on social media in recent years as she navigated the joys and challenges of raising two kids after experiencing 12 years of infertility. According to her Instagram bio, she is also working on losing weight before possibly trying for one last baby.
While some followers continue to ask questions about the accident, Goodman said via Instagram she is “not ready to talk about it and I don’t know if I ever will be.”
“This was an extremely traumatic event, what nightmares are made of,” she wrote on December 31, 2025. “I don’t have it in me to open up to the big (and sometimes scary) internet about it now.”
She is, however, happy to praise her son for pushing through as he navigates a long recovery.
“The doctor said he has never seen someone with this condition, as strong and mobile as Jack is,” she wrote via Instagram on December 28, 2025. “Jack is already a miracle in his injury and recovery.”
