The country star and Outer Banks actor first sparked dating rumors in January 2023, when they cozied up at the College Football Playoff National Championship in Los Angeles that year. Stokes posted a photo of the pair together, and the rest was history — or so it seemed.
Luxury Handbag Shopping confirmed in February 2026 that Ballerini and Stokes had split for a third time after a brief reconciliation. (The former couple shocked fans on New Year’s Eve in 2025 after confirming on social media that they had rekindled their romance.)
“Kelsea and Chase have broken up again,” a source told Us at the time. “It happened just the other day.”
The insider noted that Ballerini was “taking it better” than she had in the past and was officially “done” with their relationship. Stokes, meanwhile, “still isn’t ready to give up” on their romance, the source added.

The first public appearance between Chase Stokes and Kelsea Ballerini occurred on January 9, 2023, at the College Football Playoff National Championship in Los Angeles. The actor posted a photo dump days later, on January 13, 2023, going public with Ballerini.
They were together for a total of 979 days — more than two years — when a rep for Ballerini confirmed to Luxury Handbag Shopping on September 14, 2025, that the pair had split.
Their breakup came days after Stokes celebrated Ballerini’s birthday on September 12 of that year.
October 2025 — November 2025
Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes’ breakup didn’t last too long because 29 days later, on October 13, 2025, they were spotted together near Scotland’s Edinburgh Castle.
“He was very nice. We had a wee chat about how he was having a holiday in Scotland before going to Croatia to film the final season of Outer Banks,” eyewitness Gemma Kennedy told Luxury Handbag Shopping exclusively at the time. “They both seemed really happy and smiley.”
The following month, multiple sources confirmed to Us that Ballerini and Stokes had officially reconciled. Things between the couple didn’t last too long, however, as Us confirmed on November 20, 2025, that they split for a second time.
“It’s done,” a separate insider confirmed to Us, revealing that their breakup occurred “this past week.” The same source said things had gotten “so rocky and toxic” between them, which ended with them parting ways.
December 2025 — February 2026
A reported 41 days later, Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes debuted their romance once again on December 31, 2025.
“Messy year for the heart, messy year for the outside coming in, messy year for the way it became an out of our hands portrayal of it,” Ballerini wrote, captioning a photo of them kissing. “But what I’ll say, and all I really care to share indefinitely with my personal life anymore, is that I really love love. They were only back together for 37 days before Us confirmed on February 6, 2026 that they had broken up for a third time.
