Golfer Tony Finau made an honest confession about his marriage with wife Alayna Finau.
“I honestly can say before COVID, I don’t think my wife and I spent more than two weeks together,” Tony, 35, told Skratch in an interview published on Thursday, March 6. “We went into it and we were like, ‘We’re about to fall more in love or get a divorce.’ This is only going to end in one of those two ways. And luckily, it was the first.”
Tony and Alayna, 34, tied the knot in 2012 and have since welcomed six children: Jraice, Leilene “Neenee” Aiaga, Tony, Sage, Sienna-Vee and Layton Reign.
When asked whether Tony had a “favorite” child, the golfer laughed. “It’s hard to have a favorite,” he said. “You love them all the same but you love them all differently, as well. It’s the same but different, I guess.”
Years after the pandemic began, Tony and Alayna renewed their vows in November 2023 with their children by their side.
“We never really had a wedding 12 yrs ago, so we decided to have a vow renewal ☺️. This is our vow renewal wedding party, our babies! 🫶🏽,” Alayna wrote in a joint Instagram with Tony at the time. “Jraice & Neenee, our best man & maid of honor. Sienna-Vee escorted Dad down the [aisle] & our boys, ToneTone & Sage escorted Mom down the [aisle] 🤍 love our babies sm! 🥹.”
Less than three years after their renewal ceremony, the couple welcomed their sixth child, daughter Layton Reign.
“Thankful to our Heavenly Father for entrusting us with another precious bundle of joy. Our 3rd Princess! 💕,” Alayna wrote via Instagram in January alongside several snaps of the newborn. “We wanted to do a surprise gender at birth this time around. Our family was so sure she was a boy based off of my pregnancy (cravings, emotions, sickness, my skin, the way I carried, etc) pregnancy was identical to my pregnancies with our 3 boys. & boy were we in for a big surprise! 🥰.”
She continued, “My favorite parts were when Dr Jones delivered her & immediately turned her to Tony asking him, “what’s the gender, Dad?” & Tony pauses & looks like 😮🙀 doing a double, triple take lol…& ofc surprising our kids, the best ever! 🥹We are so blessed & in love all over again. Thank you to everyone reaching out & sending well wishes. We feel the love! 🙏🏽♥️.”
