The sundae, which first appeared at one-day-only events in San Francisco and New York City, is Ghirardelli’s reimagined take on the Dubai chocolate dessert trend that has gone viral on social media. What began as an international sensation has quickly become a modern classic, and Ghirardelli’s version offers an artisanal spin rooted in its long tradition of chocolate craftsmanship.
The indulgent treat layers smooth vanilla ice cream with handmade Ghirardelli hot fudge, creamy pistachio butter, and toasted kataifi — strands of shredded phyllo dough that add an irresistible crunch. It’s finished with white chocolate, a sprinkle of sea salt, whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a signature Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Caramel SQUARES®.
