The FBI released the first video footage of a potential suspect amid the disappearance of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie.
“Additional recovered images from the same camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance, including two videos of the individual,” FBI Director Kash Patel wrote via X on Tuesday, February 10. “Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit
http://tips.fbi.gov.”
Alongside the message, Patel, 45, shared a series of black-and-white images of a person standing in the entry way of the 84-year-old’s home wearing a ski mask.
In a video, the person is seen attempting to cover the camera outside of Nancy’s residence with a fist. When the person turned around, a backpack was visible on their back as they walked back to the front entryway and grabbed a branch. In another clip, the person was seen placing the plant over the camera.
Nancy was last seen on January 31. Savannah has been absent from the Today show amid the ongoing search for her mother, but she has shared videos and statements via social media.

After the FBI released the videos on Tuesday, Savannah reposted a clip via Instagram and wrote, “Someone out there recognizes this person. We believe she is still out there. Bring her home. Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department 520-351-4900.”
In a separate post, Savannah also shared the black-and-white images of the person and wrote, “We believe she is still alive. Bring her home. Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department 520-351-4900.”

Authorities confirmed on Sunday, February 8, that the investigation into Nancy’s disappearance is ongoing. The next day, Savannah shared an emotional video via Instagram shortly before the deadline approached to pay an alleged ransom of $6 million.
“I just wanted to come on and share some thoughts as we enter into another week of this nightmare,” she said on Monday, February 9, while thanking fans for their prayers. “We believe that somehow, some way, [Nancy] is feeling these prayers and that God is lifting her even in this moment and in this darkest place. We believe our mom is still out there.”
In the clip, Savannah said that her family — which includes sister Annie and brother Camron — was in an “hour of desperation.”
“We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock, trying to bring her home, trying to find her. She was taken, and we don’t know where, and we need your help,” Savannah said. “So, I’m coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are, even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement.”
