ESPN reporter and former Dancing with the Stars contestant Erin Andrews has filed a new $10 million invasion of privacy lawsuit, Reuters reports. In 2008, Andrews was videotaped in the nude through the peephole of her Nashville hotel room.
According to Reuters, the 33-year-old reporter wants $6 million, plus costs and interest, from the West End Marriot, and $4 million from Michael Barrett, the Chicago man who pleaded guilty to stalking her. (He was sentenced to 2.5 years in federal prison in 2010.)
At last year's sentencing hearing, Andrews said she still suffers fear, anxiety and public humiliation as a result of the incident.
"I'm being victimized every day…and I did nothing to deserve it," Andrews said, as excerpted by Reuters. She added that the videos will likely always be viewable on the Internet.
Andrews' lawsuit alleges that the hotel is guilty for negligence as well as allowing her stalker to know what room she was staying in and allowing him to book the room next door.
