Cardi B is not here for jokes about her personal life after expanding her family with boyfriend Stefon Diggs.
The drama began when her estranged husband, Offset, allegedly posted a joke about being the father of her and Diggs’ first baby. A screenshot circulating on social media showed an Instagram Story attributed to the Migos rapper, 33, that read, “My kid lol.”
The post was seemingly referring to social media speculation about a Georgia law that presumes the biological father of a child to be a woman’s husband. While Cardi, also 33, filed for divorce in July 2024, she and Offset have not yet finalized the legal paperwork to end their relationship.
In a statement, however, a rep for Offset denied that he posted the original message.
“Any statements attributed to Offset circulating on social media are completely fabricated,” the spokesperson said. “Cardi responded to misinformation, and the situation escalated unnecessarily. Offset has remained supportive of Cardi and genuinely wishes her nothing but the best.”
Cardi confirmed in September that she and Diggs, 31, were expecting their first baby together. On Thursday, November 13, she revealed in an Instagram post that she had recently welcomed “a new baby into the world.” (She previously welcomed daughters Kulture, 7, and Blossom, 14 months, and son Wave, 4, with Offset.)
After the “my kid” Instagram post made the rounds, Cardi took to X on Saturday, November 15, to call out people speculating about her relationship and her child’s paternity but did not mention Offset by name.
“Y’all be thinking it’s so funny and it’s not.. it’s been over a year and I’m still being harassed and threatened to the point that I feel like my life in danger.. it’s all fun and games until it’s too late,” she wrote in a series of since-deleted tweets, per Complex. “Mf’ers do anything for attention and it could get real nasty with just one upload… LEAVE ME TF ALONE.”
The “Bodak Yellow” later went on X Spaces and responded to criticism that she’s been out and about too much following the birth of her new baby.
“You don’t even know when I gave birth to my kid,” she said on Saturday, referring to questions about her attendance at an event in New York City on Thursday. “Y’all took one event that I went to for one hour … literally probably even less, because my obligation was to be there for 30 minutes.”
“I’m slowly starting to get in the rhythm of me, and it makes me feel good. I don’t like how you bitches are like, ‘Oh, she’s outside, she’s doing this,’” Cardi continued. “Y’all have not seen me in a club, y’all have not seen me out on a dinner, y’all have not seen me doing s***, but y’all ignore all the Story posts of me with my kids.”
The Grammy added that she’s been with her baby “all day long” even though she hasn’t posted photos of him online.
“In the morning time, I give my nanny a lot of breaks, hours of breaks. I sleep with him in the daytime, I feed him,” she added. “I’m with my kids all day long. I live with my kids.”
Cardi also seemingly addressed Offset’s alleged paternity remark in her Spaces chat, saying, “I’m really tired of getting harassed and when I get harassed privately and I ignore [it], that’s when I start getting harassed publicly. I have every single receipt. If you wanna keep sending f***ing blogs to harass me — like, I can’t take it anymore.”
In September, Cardi claimed that Offset is the reason the divorce hasn’t been finalized, accusing him of demanding she pay his taxes.
“Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’m fighting for that, I’m gonna fight for that. This is not no love s***,” she said in an X Spaces chat at the time. “I’m not gonna live my life because on a contract I’m practically still married because somebody wanna hold me hostage if I don’t give them millions of dollars to get out of it.”
