Bunnie Xo clapped back at an Instagram commenter who criticized her for staying with her husband Jelly Roll after he had an affair.
“It takes a stronger woman to face pain head-on, do the work, and rebuild with the man she loves instead of running or gossiping,” replied Bunnie Xo (real name Bunnie DeFord). “Growth isn’t weakness, it’s grace. But not everyone’s built for that kind of strength. I pray you never have to feel that pain bc you’re judging another woman’s life.”
The message came in reply to a commenter who said they were “super bummed” that Bunnie, 45, would stay with someone who cheated on her.
“Oh my dear,” the commenter wrote under one of Bunnie’s posts. “Your husband had an affair on you. You took him back and have sung perfection since. I’m super bummed. We can’t look up to you now. Where are your friends. How can anyone support this? Dear lord prove bunny the strength to hop away.”
Though Bunnie hadn’t previously opened up about that period in her life, she hinted at difficult times in her marriage in a 2024 TikTok video.
“Who knew that us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back — would have put us on this wild journey called life,” she wrote in the caption. “We finally committed to each other & did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016. Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground.”
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, revealed on the Tuesday, October 21, episode of the “Human School” podcast that he once cheated on Bunnie.
“One of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife,” he admitted. “Because it was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It just really, really, really blew me back.”
In August, Jelly Roll, 40, and Bunnie celebrated the ninth anniversary of their 2016 Las Vegas wedding, which took place a year after they met at one of the country star’s Vegas shows. It was a long road back after the affair, with Jelly Roll going on to say that it took “a lot of work to repair” their relationship, which is now stronger than ever.
“I wish our story would’ve went in the way that it never had an affair,” he said. “I’m proud of who we are today … I truly am.”
He added that the affair came at a time where he was “hanging around a bunch of people that were cheating on their wives” and that he let them influence his decisions.
“When I was doing cocaine, I was hanging around a bunch of people that were doing cocaine,” he said.
“I used to be proud of long-standing friendships just because they had a number attached to them,” he continued. “Horrible humans. But I would just be proud to say, ‘That dude’s been with me 12 years.’ S***ty human!”
