Brandi Cyrus used to frequently babysit her younger sisters, Miley and Noah Cyrus, growing up — to mixed results.
“Remember when Brandi beat the s*** out of me?” Noah, 25, quipped on the Thursday, July 10, episode of Brandi, 38, and mom Tish Cyrus’ “Sorry We’re Cyrus” podcast. “One time, she took advantage of babysitting time.”
Tish, 58, and ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus share daughters Miley, 32, and Noah, as well as son Braison, 31. Billy Ray, 63, also adopted Trace, 37, and Brandi, Tish’s two children from a previous relationship, when they got married in 1993. The exes split in 2022.
While looking back at Brandi’s babysitting habits, Noah claimed that her oldest sister used to spank her with a wooden spoon “multiple times.”
“I think I [did it to] both,” Brandi said of her sisters, joking that they deserved punishment at the time. “I’m pretty sure Noah was, like, ‘I like it. Do it again.’”
Noah, however, corrected her sibling that it was actually Miley who enjoyed the spankings.
“That’s Miley,” Noah stressed. “100 percent Miley. I’m the sweet little Capricorn.”
Tish and Brandi then asked Noah for her full birth chart, starting with the exact time she was born.
“I was born whenever the [Tennessee] Titans scored the big touchdown,” Noah recalled, mentioning that the NFL team was in the playoffs that year. “Whatever time they scored the touchdown, you scored the touchdown.”
Tish concurred, also mentioning that Billy Ray had briefly left the room when she started feeling contractions.
“The crazy part about that was your father and the doctor and everybody … all left and went to the other room to watch the game,” Tish said, claiming the TV in her hospital room had unexpectedly broken. “Nobody’s around, and all of a sudden it’s time. [I’m] screaming for everyone to get their butts back in the room, especially my doctor.”
She added, “They all came running back in and, truly, I had Noah and right when I had her, they were like, ‘It’s a miracle’ [and] my TV came on.”
Noah responded, joking that was why her dad always called her “The Music City Miracle” while she was growing up.
While the Cyruses were famously a tight-knit brood, their bond hit a snag when Tish and Billy Ray divorced. Noah and Braison also did not attend their mom’s 2023 wedding to actor Dominic Purcell.
Luxury Handbag Shopping broke the news in March 2024 that Noah had been seeing Purcell, 55, before Tish started pursuing him. While neither Tish, Noah nor the Australian actor addressed the rumored love triangle, they were able to mend fences later that year.
“We cleaned all that up,” Miley said on a June episode of Monica Lewinsky’s “Reclaiming” podcast last month. “That was a really big part of my year this year, was all of my family, putting all of those lines of communication back together.”
