After a fatal car crash took the life of Grammy-award winning art director Ian Cuttler Sala, Beyonce took to her official Facebook page to pay tribute to her former collaborator.

Sala, who was 43 at the time of his death, was a passenger in the Ford GT sports car driven by Sami Hayek — the brother of actressSalma Hayek — when it collided with a 2011 Toyota Tacoma truck on Sunset Boulevard on Sunday, Feb. 23.

Hayek, 40, survived the crash after losing control of his car, and was treated for several broken ribs in Los Angeles. The truck drive broke his left foot in the crash.
