Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez’s wedding planning is off to a slow but steady start.
“We’re both working on so many things that we haven’t even had time to get into it but we’re so excited,” Blanco, 37, shared on the Wednesday, July 10, episode of the “Therapuss with Jake Shane” podcast. “I think this summer, we’re going to sit down and be like, ‘Ok, what are we doing hun?’”
In December 2024, the couple announced they were engaged after more than a year of dating.
Since then, the pair have been hard at work on various projects leaving it hard to buckle down and plan a dream wedding.
“We’ve both been working so much,” Blanco explained to host Jake Shane. “We got engaged and then it’s holidays and then we had to start all the promo for our stuff. Then she left to film her show, Only Murders, and then I met her and we hung out for a week and then it’s promo and then I’m writing another book.”
While nothing has been finalized about the big wedding day, Blanco is confident the wait will be worth it.
“It will be chill,” he said. “It will be amazing.”
Until then, Blanco is hoping to enjoy a restful summer with his fiancée. After several months of nonstop work, the record producer is hoping to lay low and take a little break.
“I just want to lay in bed and forget what day it is because we’ve been in bed just watching stuff,” he said. “With Selena, I can do it all day. She makes me just want to hang out and cuddle and just watch things and have piles of food around us and have the best time ever.”
While Blanco didn’t reveal what shows he plans to watch, Gomez, 32, previously revealed she was a fan of a few Bravo shows.
“I’m on The Valley now,” she told Vanity Fair in a September 2024 interview. “I’ve watched every episode of Vanderpump [Rules], so I don’t care if it’s bad!”
TV shows aside, Gomez has shared glimpses into her love story with Blanco on social media.
When celebrating her fiancé’s birthday in March, the “Come and Get It” singer expressed how grateful she was to have Blanco in her life.
“I’m not sure what I did to deserve you,” she wrote via Instagram at the time, “but damn am I glad you were born.”
