UPDATE 2/10/26 at 6:01 p.m. ET — Ballerina Farm released a statement regarding reports claiming the brand paused sales of raw milk due to bacteria concerns.
“Ballerina Farm is a family-run brand nestled in the fertile mountain valley of Kamas, Utah,” a statement shared with Luxury Handbag Shopping read. “We deeply care about the Ballerina Farm products our customers consume and share with family and friends. We are committed to transparency, food safety, and responsible stewardship in all of our agricultural practices, and we are sharing the following statement to clarify questions regarding raw milk sales associated with our farm.”
The statement continued, “Producing and selling raw milk in Utah carries significant responsibility and is subject to strict state regulation. The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food oversees raw milk production and sales, including requirements for regular testing, routine inspections, and compliance with rigorous quality and safety standards.”
The company went on to claim that when Ballerina Farm sold raw milk, it “passed the state’s required testing.”
“Additionally, Ballerina Farm never recalled any product, including its raw milk. Raw milk that did not meet regulatory or industry standards was not sold and responsibly disposed of,” the statement read. “Due to regulatory requirements, operational complexity, and economic considerations, we transitioned from selling raw milk to exclusively offering pasteurized milk on August 11th, 2025.”
Ballerina Farm noted that the brand “remains deeply committed to producing high-quality, safe, and nourishing food for people in all walks of life,” adding that all of their products are made with pasteurized milk.
“We partner with dairies we respect and trust to meet growing customer demand. While our own small dairy continues to provide low-temperature, vat-pasteurized milk for in-store products such as milk, yogurt, cheese, and ice cream,” the statement read. “Currently, customers can visit our two brick and mortar locations in Midway and Kamas, Utah to enjoy the products created from the milk produced at our dairy along with an array of other carefully selected and curated goods.”
The statement continued, “We take great care in creating thoughtful products made with carefully sourced, quality ingredients. While as a company we appreciate raw milk, the consumption of raw foods, including dairy, may carry certain health risks that vary by individual and product. We encourage individuals to consult with a trusted healthcare professional to determine what is right for them. Transparency and responsibility remain central to our approach, and we take every precaution to ensure the food we offer meets the highest standards of safety and care. We appreciate the public’s interest in food production and welcome thoughtful dialogue rooted in facts, transparency, and care for both animals and consumers.”

Influencer Hannah Neeleman and husband Daniel Neeleman’s Ballerina Farm has reportedly halted selling raw milk amid health concerns.
A report published by local Utah outlet KPCW on Thursday, January 29, claimed that health inspectors found two violations after a routine milk testing conducted in late May and early June 2025.
KPCW cited Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) records, which reportedly noted that the screening showed high levels of coliform in the raw bottled milk. (Coliform is the family of bacteria that includes E. coli.)
The state’s dairy program manager told the outlet that Ballerina Farm made the decision to halt raw milk sales. A spokesperson for Ballerina Farm shared that raw milk was only being sold at the company’s Kamas farm stand and that the brand is only selling pasteurized milk for now.
“Producing raw milk takes careful planning from a facility and infrastructure standpoint,” a Ballerina Farm spokesperson said in a statement to KPCW. “Unfortunately, we learned this after the fact.”
The outlet reported that Ballerina Farm noted its current dairy is better suited to pasteurized products and it has plans to create a second dairy in the future for raw milk products.
An informational page on the UDAG website notes that ingesting unpasteurized dairy products can lead to “serious health risks.” E. coli, Salmonella and Listeria can be found in raw milk.
Hannah, who has more than 10.4 million followers on Instagram, has been candid about consuming raw milk as she monetized her lifestyle with the Ballerina Farm brand. (The company also sells sourdough starters, salt, protein power and more.)
In October 2024, the influencer shared with People that drinking the product helped her beauty and wellness routine.
“[My mom] was like, ‘When you started drinking raw milk, your skin got a lot better,'” Hannah shared. “And I kind of think there’s something to that.”
The mom of eight rose to fame online as the “trad wife” phenomenon took over social media. Hannah, however, shared in July 2025 that she doesn’t “necessarily identify” with the label. (The idea centers on women who have rejected modern gender roles and reverted to an old-fashioned definition of womanhood.)
“Because we are traditional in the sense that it’s a man and a woman, we have children, but I do feel like we’re paving a lot of paths that haven’t been paved before,” she told The Sunday Times in an interview at the time.
While Hannah is a stay-at-home mother, the former Julliard dancer noted that she has a high-earning job as a contributor to their 328-acre family farm in Utah.
“For me to have the label of a traditional woman,” she continued. “I’m kinda, like, I don’t know if I identify with that.”
When Daniel was asked whether he identified as the head of their household, he replied, “No. We’re co-CEOs.” Hannah agreed with his sentiment, adding, “Yeah. We are.”
