Bachelor Nation’s Rachel Recchia got emotional while responding to her haters.
“Normally I really am OK with a lot of the things people say about me online, but recently I feel like things have just gotten really, really bad,” Recchia, 30, said in a video uploaded via TikTok on Tuesday, March 31. “Whenever I post, the majority of the comments are, ‘I don’t look like myself,’ and ‘I don’t look good,’ and ‘I look sick,’ and ‘I was so much more beautiful back then.’”
Recchia noted she “understands” that she looks different from how she did while appearing on Clayton Echard’s season 26 of The Bachelor in 2022. “I’ve been very open and transparent with the filler and Botox that I have,” she shared. “I would do anything to be 25 and look that way again.”
Recchia went on to star as one of the coleads of The Bachelorette season 19 alongside Gabby Windey in 2022 year. She added, “Another thing I really wanted to touch on [is] the weight fluctuation that I’ve had throughout the years.”
Rechhia explained that before filming season 3 of Perfect Match in 2025, she “got very sick” and needed a PICC [peripherally inserted central catheter] line in her arm, which made her lose weight.
“Right after I got that PICC line out of my arm, I went to film the show,” she continued through tears. “I lost even more weight.”
@pilot.rachel Reminder to be kind today 🤍
“You go and you’re on a show and the main thing is people telling me how big I was when I was the Bachelorette, and then you see yourself at a different weight, it’s really hard to let yourself gain weight after that,” the ABC alum shared, admitting that she’s “struggled” with her body image since.
Recchia also said that she’s “working on” her self-image and sees comments about her “slimmed out” face, adding, “I think there’s so much going on right now just in the reality TV space with women and coming after how they look.”
“I know I’m putting myself in this position but it’s been something that I’m struggling with and I wish I had something of an ending to this,” she said. Recchia concluded her message by encouraging fans to “put a little more kindness into the world and on the internet.”
“Reminder to be kind today 🤍,” she captioned the post. Her celebrity friends and fans were quick to support her in the comments section.
Fellow Bachelor Nation alum Charity Lawson wrote, “Love you so much ❤️,” while a follower added, “ALL versions of you are beautiful! Worthy to be comfortable in your own skin!” Another fan also commented, “The gag is you looked gorg then, and you look so absolutely beautiful now!!!!”
