Alex Cooper found her forever person in Matt Kaplan.
“Call Her Daddy” host Cooper met Kaplan on a business call over Zoom, leading to Kaplan’s podcast codename to be “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man.” After the call, the twosome decided to go out to dinner and they immediately hit it off.
“I get into the car, we lock eyes,” Cooper shared in a “Call Her Daddy” episode in August 2020. “You know those people you meet immediately that it’s just like you feel like you’ve known each other for so long? We immediately vibed and it was just like we’re going to get along so well.”
Cooper and Kaplan went on to get engaged in April 2023 and later tied the knot in April 2024.
While the couple have shared some details about their engagement and wedding, they have largely decided to keep most of their relationship private.
“Matt is so private, but he also loves the Daddy Gang,” Cooper told W Magazine in April 2023. “Every week he’s like, ‘How’s the episode going? Do they like it?’”

Cooper and Kaplan met on a business call over Zoom and decided to go out on a dinner date afterwards.
February 2021
On an episode of “Call Her Daddy,” Cooper confirmed that she and “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man” were officially dating. After a flight from London, Cooper greeted Kaplan with a sign that read, “Mr Kaplan a.k.a. my boyfriend.”
“He makes eye contact with me, and he just walks over to me,” Cooper shared. “It was a great moment … it was cool to be like ‘I made the right decision.’”
April 2023
Kaplan popped the question at the couple’s L.A. home.
“When I came home that night, my entire house was covered in candles, lit all over, music playing, and a scavenger hunt leading to Matt proposing,” Cooper recalled to W Magazine in April 2023. “There was a computer and the screen said ‘play me.’ I played the video, and it was Matt wearing the same exact outfit that he wore on our first Zoom meeting together. He talked about our relationship and his love for me, and then he asked me to open the card sitting there and to follow the scavenger hunt around the house.”
Cooper later noted that it was “truly the best moment” of her life.
“Matt is so creative and thoughtful. He knew I wanted it to be private,” she gushed on an episode of “Call Her Daddy” in April 2023.

Kaplan and Cooper announced that they were launching a new media venture aimed at Gen Z called Trending. According to Deadline, the company vowed to engage these audiences on their terms via scripted and unscripted content, podcasts, digital media, tours and other Gen Z-focused endeavors. “Call Her Daddy,” Kaplan’s ACE Entertainment company and the Unwell Network are all part of Trending.
February 2024
The pair hosted a practice wedding ceremony so that Kaplan’s 100-year-old grandmother would be able to be a part of their special day.
“We had a little pre-wedding celebration with Matt’s 100 yr old grandma last night,” Cooper shared via Instagram. “She sadly won’t be able to travel to our wedding so we wanted to make her feel special and a part of everything ❤️sobbing love you grandmommy. The daddy gang loves you too you legend (yes she’s wearing Chd sweats).”
April 2024
Cooper and Kaplan got married in Riviera Maya, Mexico with their goldendoodles, Harry and Bruce, as the ring bearers and Cooper’s brother, Grant, officiating the ceremony. Cooper also noted that she and Kaplan made the decision to keep their vows private from one another until their wedding.
“For our families and closest friends to hear us verbalize our feelings toward one another in the most intimate setting felt electric,” Cooper told Vogue at the time. “As you will see in almost every photo, there were no dry eyes in sight. We will never forget that moment.”
