Love on the Spectrum star Abbey Romeo showed support for David Isaacman on social media amid news of the reality TV couple’s split.
Abbey, 27, “liked” David’s Instagram post about his upcoming children’s book on Thursday, April 9 — the same day multiple outlets reported that the costars called it quits on their nearly five-year romance.
“Hi everyone! I wrote a children’s book!!! I’m excited to share that The Big Five Save the Lions is coming August 11!” David, 31, wrote in his post, which included the book’s cover artwork.
David continued, “This story is very personal to me — it’s inspired by me and my friends, reimagined as kids and superheroes. We care about protecting animals and standing up for what matters. The characters are also on the autism spectrum, just like me, and that representation means a lot. Sharing this during Autism Awareness Month makes it even more meaningful — especially while celebrating the new season of Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum.”
David concluded by thanking his team and adding, “I can’t wait for you all to meet the Big Five 🦁.”
Abbey and David met on a blind date in July 2021, as seen on Love on the Spectrum season 1 in 2022. The pair became a mainstay on the reality show, which follows individuals on the autism spectrum in their quests for love.
During the season 4 premiere earlier this month, Abbey teased that she and David might have been headed for the altar.
“What if he gives me a wedding ring?” she asked her mother.
However, weeks before their reported breakup, Abbey said that David wasn’t ready to tie the knot.
“I do [love him],” she said on the “We Need to Talk” podcast in March. “But he’s not ready to get married. There’s a difference.”
Abbey continued, “I do want to be married, but I just don’t want to rush it. I just don’t know when.”
While the split reports came as a shock to many fans of Abbey and David, others had suspicions due to the pair’s limited appearances on each other’s social media. Abbey last showed up on David’s Instagram on Christmas Eve 2025, while David appeared in Abbey’s December 2025 video documenting their trip to Universal Studios.
Back in October 2025, Abbey shared an update on her romance with David in an exclusive interview with Luxury Handbag Shopping.
“We are working on our communication skills because we have different kinds of autism,” she said at the time. “I am a Gestalt learner and think in memories, and he is very patient with me, and we are still working hard on understanding each other.”
