"Tucker being the third boy, everything is sort of hand me downs -- clothes, toys, strollers -- so he deserves something of his own to make him feel unique and special," explains Melissa Joan Hart of the Disney-themed nursery she designed for her son using Disney paint and items from Tiffani Theissen and Lonni Paul's company, PetitNest.
Just as she did with older sons Mason and Brady, Hart had family and friends write well wishes on a matte frame during their first visits to meet Tucker. Later, Hart hung it in Tucker's nursery to remind him how much he is loved. "[People wrote] 'welcome to the world' or 'we've waited for so long for you,'" she explains. "It's like a little guest book, but instead of turning pages, it's behind a frame and it's preserved."
Enhancing the nursery's blue, white and gray color scheme is the monogramed crib headboard, designed by PetitNest. "It's a special thing [Tiffani and Lonni] did for him -- it really pops," Hart tells Us. "It's sweet that it's his crib, and he can pass it down if he has a Tucker, Jr. in the future."
"I do love rocking him and singing to him, although the stronger and more active he's becoming, he doesn't want to be helped," Hart admits of her growing boy. "He wants to run around and play, so I like . . . to look at their sonogram pictures and compare them in the womb and things like that while he's playing."
Tucker isn't the only one who gets to enjoy his new room! As Hart explains, her youngest's digs have become somewhat of a family hangout spot. "He's starting to walk, so at night, after he gets in his PJs. we practice walking across the room," Hart says. "The [older] boys wrestle around and we have a ton of fun just hanging out."
Tucker's older brothers, Mason and Brady, share another bedroom in Hart's home, and while mom tells Us that can lead to trouble at times, it often works out well. "They have to share toys and books and [figure out] who wants the light off and who wants the closet door closed and there's compromise," Hart tells Us of her sons. "We spoil our kids in so many ways but I think this is one way that helps them stay grounded."
Hart and her husband collaborated on the design of Tucker's nursery, though Hart was adamant about the color scheme. "He loves to be involved in all house design stuff. Some of our biggest fights are when we try to redo a room, but in this case, I said I wanted to do an Americana look and he went along with it," she explains.
