Tori Spelling has more than one reason to be proud of her children.

“I think it’s been a couple years of transition for my family, and I’m proud of their kindness and their empathy and that I’m raising really good humans,” Spelling, 52, exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping at iHeartRadio 102.7 KIIS-FM’s Jingle Ball on Friday, December 5.

“I think when it’s all said and done, that’s what’s most important to me, is that they’re really good people and no matter what they go through — it might have been a hard year, it might be difficult, but you guys have good hearts and you’re going to be fine,” she added.

Spelling shares five children with her ex-husband Dean McDermott: Liam, 18, Stella, 17, Hattie, 14, Finn, 13, and Beau, 8. (McDermott, 58, also shares son Jack, 27, with ex Mary Jo Eustace.)

Spelling and McDermott were together for 20 years before they finalized their divorce in November, more than one year after Spelling filed the paperwork in March 2024.

“As all of you have seen in the news, I am officially divorced,” Spelling said on her iHeartRadio podcast “MisSpelling” on November 10. “Wow. I said it out loud. It must be real. This is something never said — this was one of the easiest divorces in Hollywood.”

She continued, “While we had our ups and downs and problems throughout our marriage, we had no problems throughout the divorce, which I think is a testament to the two of us and wanting to really step up and be there for the five humans we chose to create out of love.”

The actress explained during the same podcast episode that the split was completely “amicable” despite “the press” wanting to “change the narrative,” adding that their divorce settlement was reached in mediation and without the need of a trial.

“This is a drama-free uncoupling and divorce,” she added.

In November, McDermott exclusively spoke to Us about the pair’s split and their continued dedication to raising their children together.

“We’re great coparents,” the actor, who’s been sober for over two years, told Us at the time. “Our relationship is fantastic. We’re a united front. It’s all about the kids.”

McDermott also shared that despite the pair’s finalized divorce, they planned to handle the holiday season like they always have — together.

“Every year we go and get our pictures with Santa. I think we’ve missed one year as a family, so we always do that. I don’t see that stopping anytime soon now that Tori and I aren’t together,” he said. “At the end of the day, we’re a family, right? And whether we’re together or not, I love Tori. I’ll love her for the rest of my life. And she’s gonna love me for the rest of her life.”

He continued, “It just didn’t work out as a couple. But you know, we’re parents. We coparent together beautifully, and we love each other. So, you know, that’s a great formula for moving forward and solidifying and growing our family.”
As the coparents continue to navigate life after divorce, Spelling told Us that she is keeping one universal parenting truth in mind.

“There’s no manual,” she told Us on Friday. “I used to hear that, and then you have kids, and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God, there’s really no manual.’ They’re all so different.”
