Patrick J. Adams has revealed the name of his and wife Troian Bellisario’s third baby, two months after their daughter’s birth.
“We just had a daughter, and we almost named her August. We love the name August Adams. I wish my name were August Adams. I wish I could go back in time,” Adams 44, said in a preview clip of his upcoming episode of Amanda Hirsch‘s “Not Skinny but Not Fat” podcast shared by People on Monday, March 30.
When Hirsch pointed out that Adams had not yet publicly revealed their baby girl’s name, the Suits star said, “Oh, I guess I haven’t. It’s not secret. I can break the news here. Her name is Imogen.”
Adams said he and Bellisario, 40, are “rehearsing nicknames” for Imogen, including Imy, Momo, and Moji.
Hirsch then asked why Adams and Bellisario decided against choosing the name August.
“I don’t know what the thinking was,” he responded. “Troian and I just were like … kind of toiling over [it].”
Adams added that their daughter didn’t have a name for two weeks because they did a home birth instead of the hospital and had time to think about it.
Adams announced his daughter’s birth via Instagram on January 27, sharing a black-and-white photo of the newborn’s hand resting in his own.
“Tag. You’re it,” he captioned the post.
Weeks later, Bellisario took to Instagram to share a video showcasing her baby bump throughout her pregnancy. The video ended with footage of Imogen and text that read, “Tiny dancer has arrived.” (The video was set to Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer.”)
“‘Bump view’ a human (and video) 41 weeks in the making,” the Pretty Little Liars alum captioned the video.
Adams and Bellisario, who tied the knot in December 2016, also share daughters Aurora, 7, and Elliot, 4.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this month, Adams gushed about life with his girls.
“We’re in the one-month stage where it’s diapers and no sleep and a lot of love,” he told the outlet at the premiere of his show The Madison. “[There’s] a lot of cuddling and just, like, pure joy. There’s not a lot of sleep, that’s not on the docket at the moment.”
Adams continued, “I spent my whole life around women. I have two sisters, now three daughters, and it’s a very particular kind of energy being a man in that environment. I think it prepared me perfectly to play this guy [on The Madison], who is surrounded by women who he’s just trying to figure out how to take care of, how to show up for — in an environment he has no idea how to exist in.”
