Jessica Simpson‘s feet are closer to the ground these days. The pregnant designer and Fashion Star mentor, 32, has eschewed her beloved high heels as her second pregnancy progresses — and apparently she needs practice! “Practicing walking in flats around my house,” Simpson tweeted late Friday, March 29, with an accompanying picture.
“Jessica is no longer wearing heels,” a source told Luxury Handbag Shopping about two weeks ago. “Her feet are swollen and hurt, and high heels hurt her back.”
Expecting a son this time around with fiance Eric Johnson, Simpson made a similar, necessary sacrifice during her first pregnancy with daughter Maxwell Drew, nearly 11 months.
“I went to the doctor yesterday and he said, ‘You’re gonna need to get out of those heels!'” she told Luxury Handbag Shopping in November 2011, a month after confirming her first pregnancy. “I was like, ‘Excuse me! I’ll be delivering in these heels!”
“I can’t wait for the day I can walk in heels again!” the Fashionista tweeted shortly before Maxwell’s May 2012 birth. “My feet feel homesick!”
Simpson has admitted the pregnancy number two hasn’t been as carefree as the first. “It’s a totally different pregnancy. I just feel awful, I’ve been vomiting,” Simpson said earlier this month on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous.”
