In July, it was reported that Gibson allegedly hit Grigorieva while she was holding baby Lucia. In a series of leaked phone conversations, Gibson reportedly screamed at his ex, telling her "You look like a f---ing pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n---ers, it will be your fault!"

Once the tapes began to leak, a nasty custody war ensued. "Mel was hopeful that their break-up was behind them and Lucia would be the beneficiary of cooperative parenting," Gibson's lawyer said in June after the tapes had leaked. "Apparently, Lucia will be denied that good fortune."

Grigorieva insists Gibson struck her twice (though his lawyers have denied her claims). "What kind of a man is that, who would hit a woman when she is holding a child in her hands, hitting her twice in the face? What kind of man is that?" Grigorieva questions in one of the leaked tapes.

Grigorieva first complained that her ex hadn't provided any financial assistance in raising their daughter in June. "He is not paying me a penny. Nothing," she said at the time. "I am having to live on credit cards and borrowed money. It is not a good situation."

Gibson -- who is currently under a domestic violence investigation by police -- was reportedly heard on tape telling Grigorieva, "I will bury you in the rose garden."

Despite a report that Gibson punched his ex in the face and knocked out her teeth, a source tells Us that's not true. "They got into it, but he absolutely did not injure her," the source says.

At a baby shower for baby Lucia, a source tells Us that Grigorieva "looked really upset, like she'd been crying." Adds another: "She seemed so sad and dejected that people could not even bear to stay for the part of the party when they open presents."

When Grigorieva asks for the number of Gibson's therapist in one leaked voicemail, he allegedly spouts back, "You wanted the number of my therapist? Don't you ever speak to him! Find your own goddamn therapist! Because you've got problems more than me!"

Though Gibson began dating Grigorieva shortly after ending his marriage to Robyn, his ex-wife later defended him in a written court document in July. "Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage," she wrote.
