Ozempic has become a hot topic when it comes to weight loss — with some stars confirming they have used the drug while others denied it. In March 2026, influencer Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia faced backlash for a candid video in which she told Ozempic users, “You’re all gonna die.”

“No tea, no shade, no hate, just some field research,” the Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test star said. “Every single bitch I know is on Ozempic. People that do not need Ozempic. It’s like if I did Ozempic. Could I lose a couple? Surely. Do I need Ozempic? No! You’re gonna die. You’re all gonna die.”

Megan Stalter

The Hacks star had a hilarious reaction to people who “lie” about using Ozempic. "Let's just say the trips to the bathroom would say otherwise, okay?” she said on a March 2025 episode of the “Grindr Presents: Who’s The A-----? with Katya” podcast. “We know if you're on it because you're s—ing your pants.”

Host Katya Zamolodchikova jokingly replied, “All the agents at CAA are blowing up the bathrooms on Ozempic.”

“How is that hotter than being fat?” Stalter continued. "That is insane to me. I would rather be 500 lbs. than s—ing all day. That's so gross. Unless you have a sickness then that is something you were born with, but if you’re taking a drug on purpose just so you lose 10 pounds then, honey, we liked you a little chubbier.”

In January 2025, the actor revealed he’s lost 40 pounds since he began taking GLP-1 medication. “It has suppressed, in a great way, that noise. ... When I wake up, I feel hunger pains — and so much of that is psychological, right? And what this does is it takes away that signal,” he explained on the “Armchair Expert” podcast. “It is life-changing, but it also doesn't negate the fact that it can't be in the place of having a healthy relationship with food. It can't be in the place of having a healthy relationship with exercise. … I'm having my own journey with it. Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating myself by doing this.”

Gad added that he briefly worried about whether his weight loss would affect his career. “I've always been the funny fat guy. Can I be the funny skinny guy? Can I be the hot leading man?” he wondered. “I don't know that people would accept me as those things. … [Now] I'm not as worried about [my career] because my primary goal is, I want to be there for my kids. Everything else is bulls---.”

Brooks Nader

The model exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping in December 2024 that she briefly tried Ozempic.

“I took, like, a little bit when it first came out, and everyone was doing it,” Nader told Us. “It made me really nauseous. I liked it — I am not going to lie — and when I went on Dancing with the Stars, I could not do both.”

Nader competed on season 33 of DWTS earlier that year, getting eliminated in October 2024.

“It was one or the other, and I picked dancing. I put the shot away,” she said, noting that Ozempic decreased her motivation to work out.

Al Roker

The Today show host got candid with the Daily Mail about his own weight loss journey, having undergone gastric bypass surgery in 2002. Because of that, Roker noted that he would never “judge anybody” for how they choose to lose weight, whether they use drugs like Ozempic or not.

“I'm not gonna judge anybody,” he said in November 2024. “Listen, it's unlike any other addiction or dependence. You can live without alcohol, you can live without cigarettes, whatever that drug of choice is, but you've got to eat, and so for some people, it's just difficult.”

Roker added that, when it comes to weight loss and improving one’s relationship with food, “They've got to figure out their path.” He noted, “And if that path is one of these drugs and that works for them, great. And if it helps you, if that's the thing that gets you over that point where you're able to be healthier and lead a more active lifestyle, that's great.”

Tom Parker Bowles

The food critic and son of Queen Camilla recalled a humorous story where he requested Ozempic from his doctor, who told him to “f– off.”

“He just went, ‘f— off. You’re a food writer,’” he said. “‘All these excess calories are coming from booze.’”

When Parker Bowles said he only drinks three days a week, his doctor added that the amount of rosé he consumes is the equivalent to around 18 cheeseburgers.

“I became a food writer because I was sacked from pretty much any other job I ever did,” he wrote in a September 2024 story for You Magazine. “I could string a sentence together and eat. Twenty-five years on, I’m still here and still loving every moment. God I’m lucky, and I’ll never, ever grow bored of food. Although, as I get older, I crave simplicity more and more.”

Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins

After TLC singer T-Boz was hospitalized with an abdominal blockage in August 2024, fans began speculating that it was a result of her using Ozempic. The singer took to Instagram days later to quash the rumors.

“Everybody and every celeb ain’t on Ozempic,” she said. “The ignorance is disheartening to me because I would just pray for people or if I have nothing to say, I would just shut the hell up and say nothing at all but y’all don’t know how to f–king do that.”

T-Boz’s illness forced TLC to cancel shows in Syracuse, New York, and at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. The group posted a message via its Instagram Story saying her “severe abdominal blockage” was not caused by food poisoning and that she would remain in the hospital overnight under medical supervision.

Ice Spice

The rapper slammed rumors that she used Ozempic to lose weight during an August 2024 X Spaces after fans commented on a recent picture of her slim figure.

“‘Cuz I was like, ‘Bitch, I wish y’all never learned the word Ozempic.’ That’s one thing I wish,” she said while addressing the comments on her post. “Oh, my God! Like, what even is Ozempic? What the f–k is that? Genuinely, what is that?”

Ice Spice shared that her weight loss came from working out and eating healthy. 

“Like, you lazy bitches never heard of the gym? It’s called the gym, it’s called eating healthy, it’s called being on tour,” she continued. “Like, what the hell? Maybe if I was sitting home all f–king day, it’ll be easier to stay big.”

Shanna Moakler

Moakler confirmed in June 2024 that she has been using Mounjaro, not Ozempic, to help with her weight loss journey. "I was in a very, very dark place. I stopped dieting. I stopped exercising. I just ate like s—t,” she told People of her health after losing her mom and dad within months of each other in 2023. “I was so devastated, and I missed my f—king mom and dad. I was like, 'I'm going to f—king eat the pain away."

After taking the Type 2 diabetes medicine, Moakler began to feel like herself again in 2024. "I don't think anyone has a clue about who I am," she said with a smile. "I'm more than just the ex-wife of famous men. I was Miss USA at 19. I'm smart. Every part I've ever got in any movie, or every show I hosted or auditioned for, I worked my f—king ass off to get.”

Moakler — who dated Oscar De La Hoya from 1997 to 2000 and was married to Travis Barker from 2004 to 2008 — revealed she’s happy again. “As I stand here today, as a mature woman who's gone through all that ... I do not give a f–k what anyone thinks of me anymore. I'm proud of who I am,” she added.

Four months after welcoming her first baby, Benson took to social media to shut down rumors she used Ozempic for her weight loss. “I know a lot of people taking Ozempic and it’s totally fine. To each their own,” she wrote via her Instagram Story in June 2024. “But don’t discredit people who also work very hard to get their body back like I’ve done with mine.”

The Pretty Little Liars actress explained that her career “forced” her to “focus on my health.” Benson, who gave birth to a baby girl in February 2024, noted that she uses the Melissa Wood-Tepperberg fitness app daily. “I wanted to feel confident and good about myself,” she added.

Kate Winslet

During a March 2024 interview with The New York Times Magazine, Winslet admitted she didn’t totally know what Ozempic was, saying, “All I know is that it’s some pill that people are taking or something like that.”

After learning that users inject themselves with the type 2 diabetes medication, she said, “Oh, my God. This sounds terrible! Let’s eat some more things!”

Osbourne called the Ozempic trend “amazing” while speaking to E! News in February 2024.

"There are a million ways to lose weight, why not do it through something that isn't as boring as working out?" she said. "People hate on it because they want to do it. And the people who hate on it the most are the people who are secretly doing it or pissed off that they can't afford it. Unfortunately, right now, it's something that is very expensive, but it eventually won't be because it actually works."

Morgan surprised fans in August 2023 when he revealed during a Today With Hoda and Jenna appearance that he was using Ozempic. “No, that’s Ozempic. That’s how this weight got lost,” he said when talking about his health journey. “I went and got a prescription and I got Ozempic. And I ain't letting it go!”

“Are you really on Ozempic?” Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager asked to which Morgan replied, “Yeah. I take Ozempic every Thursday. Cuts my appetite in half.” He then joked, “I only eat half a bag of Doritos!”

"I have had people ask me currently if I am on [Ozempic] and absolutely not. I wouldn't do it. It is not for me," the Vanderpump Rules star shared on her podcast in August 2023. "I have other friends who — I don't want to name names — who have made some jokes about it like, 'Well, after my next baby I will just get on Ozempic.' And I am like, 'I don't think that is what it's there for?'"

"I have pre-diabetes and diabetes in my family," the Raven’s House star told E! News in July 2023. "If I'm not careful with my intake with types of foods, I am more susceptible to getting diabetes. So, I think it's very important we understand certain medications are made for certain people — and to not take that away just for glamazon purposes."

Raven-Symoné explained that she was worried that celebrities’ — and other people’s — desire to slim down with Ozempic has led to a shortage of the drug. "Do what you gotta do, just make sure you save the medication for the people who actually need it,” she said.

In June 2023, the Vanderpump Rules alum revealed that she's interested in trying Ozempic after she welcomes her second child. "I really wanna try it when I give birth," she explained during an interview on Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy" podcast. "The amount of times I've researched this ... like, I mean, I think it's safe and healthy." Jokingly, she added, "Like, I think it's good for you. It's like taking vitamins!"

Schroeder went on to quip that she doubts people who claim they don't wonder whether Ozempic would work for them. "Anyone who hears about Ozempic has to f–king be curious," the former Bravo personality said. "You are a liar if you tell me that you have not thought about it."

In June 2023, the RHOBH star shut down a Twitter user who wondered whether her "slimmed down" figure was the result of Ozempic.

"Don’t even start with that ozempic thing I’m not playing with that!!!" Beauvais responded to the fan's tweet.

"Like a year ago, I tried it. I was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn't play with my son. I was so skinny and he's throwing a ball at me and [I couldn't]," the comedian said during a June 2023 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. "And you're like, 'OK, this isn't livable for me.' But I immediately invested because I knew everyone was going to try it."

In March 2025, Schumer reported that she had been having a better experience using Mounjaro after trying Wegovy years ago. “Three years ago, I tried Wegovy,” she said in a video shared via Instagram. “I was puking, I couldn’t handle it. I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula, whatever. But anyway, I went on this Telehealth meeting with Midi Health, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself ‘cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are nurses and teachers. They put me on estrogen and progesterone because I realized I was in perimenopause and my symptoms from being perimenopause have disappeared. My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy, I want to get down more, if you know what I mean. I'm talking about sex. So that's been great and Mounjaro’s been great.” She added, “And, look, it's not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or like severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have. But I'm having a really good experience with it and I wanted to keep it real with you about that.”

The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles star revealed in June 2023 that she stopped taking Mounjaro because of side effects she experienced after about two months of using the medication. "The only thing I could not do was drink [alcohol], which [would make me] projectile vomit," Tutor said during an appearance on the "Jeff Lewis Has Issues" podcast. "Like, if I had more than two glasses of wine."

The real estate pro went on to claim that she once threw up in front of a client while on the medication. “I was shooting the show, actually, and we were shooting the finale, and I had taken the [Mounjaro] shot, like, maybe a week before,” she recalled. “One night we stayed in and we had dinner, and I had probably three glasses of wine, maybe smoked a little hooch after, went to bed, woke up, was unwell — like, so unwell. ... So, I’m, like, talking to a client, and she asked me a question, and I just cover my mouth, and I turn around, and it’s like … it was so intense."

The View cohost addressed rumors that she's been using Ozempic after sharing Instagram photos in May 2023 from a trip to Colombia. In a lengthy comment, she explained that she's lost "about 4-5 lbs a month" thanks to healthy tips she learned at a "wellness spa" the previous summer.

"I also sought professional help - nutritionist, medical supervision (I was on the verge of pre-diabetes), pilates coach (I joined a Pilates club in Miami and NYC), and pickleball coach (I try to play at least twice a week)," she added. "So it's been a complete lifestyle change -except for the damn rosé and margaritas, which I can't give up."

She continued: "I am not equipped to give anyone advice or endorse any solution. We all have to figure out what works for each us. It is a daily struggle for me. I still really like tequila and staying in bed with my poodle…🤷🏻‍♀️."

In April 2023, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star — who is in recovery for bulimia — said that she's considered using Ozempic but ultimately decided it wouldn't be the right decision. "It’s not a good place for me, personally for my recovery," she told Page Six. "I’ve never judged or looked down on anyone that finds different avenues for [weight loss]. I would be lying if [I said] I haven’t thought about it. And then I have to check myself if that’s right for my recovery, and I’m in a very specific situation.”

Martin Short

During Molly Shannon’s April 2023 stint as Saturday Night Live host, she used her monologue to sing a rendition of Gypsy’s “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” — and ask the crowd what their own “problem” was. The camera quickly turned to Short, who stood beside executive producer Lorne Michaels, with a glass of champagne in hand.

“I ran out of Ozempic!” the Only Murders in the Building star quipped, throwing a tantrum and then shoveling a hamburger into his mouth. (Eating the hamburger seemingly served a spoof of the weight loss medication’s side effects when you stop taking the injections.)

During an April 2023 episode of his SiriusXM show Radio Andy, a viewer called out Cohen for "congratulating" guests on "looking so thin and asking if they are on Ozempic."

The Bravo host conceded that the viewer was "right" and admitted that he didn't always know how to address weight loss on the show. “I’m trying to deliver the goods for my audience watching,” he explained. "I mean, if Dolores shows up looking 15 pounds lighter, I gotta find out how it happened.”

The Missouri native also praised Catania for being honest about using the controversial weight loss method "because there are so many people who aren't."

Bethenny Frankel

The Skinnygirl founder slammed using the drug for weight loss in an April 2023 Instagram video.

"If someone is struggling with obesity and working with a doctor, that is one thing (and this is all new in this application) but thin rich country club cul de sac Americans, buying this online and at Mexican pharmacies is another thing," she wrote in the caption.

In the clip, Frankel warned her followers about the potential side effects of Ozempic and other similar medications. "I’m hearing stories about it affecting people’s personalities," she claimed. The New York native added that the full scope of the drug's adverse effects could years to come to light, comparing it to the opioid epidemic.

"Mark my words, we’re not going to hear about this s—tshow for months and years to come," she said. "It’s going to be a f—king s—tshow.”

Dolores Catania

In April 2023, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star confirmed she was taking Mounjaro for weight loss. “I wasn’t going to come to the reunion looking any bigger than anyone else, so I got on the bandwagon,” she said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

Catania noted that the only side effect from the prescription medication was a lack of hunger. “The reunion is in two weeks. I do have a trainer," she clarified before noting that she wanted to "tell the truth" about her experience.

Sophie Turner

The Game of Thrones alum reposted an Instagram Story about a New York City subway advertisement for a company that sells Wegovy, a drug similar to Ozempic that is also used off-label for weight loss. "The ozempic ads plastered across the Times Square subway station can f–k all the way off," read the original post. Turner added the comment, "WTF."

On a March 2023 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star explained her "glow up" to the Bravo host. 

"What am I on? Well, I did have a facelift. ... And a nose job!" she explained. "And I did lose a lot of weight. I took peptides, and I don't know if you've heard of medications associated with that that help people lose weight," she teased. After Cohen name-dropped Ozempic, Fessler responded, "You said it, I didn't. But … whatever works, here I am."

“It’s for energy, and it has, like, other nutrients,” the reality star explained to Page Six in March 2023. “The doctor had given it to Marysol because she felt weak and lethargic, and [it] maybe had to do something with her diet, but the B-12 always adds to anybody’s health.”

“I had to get a lot of steroid injections last year, which caused me to really pack on some weight. And I don’t know if it’s because I’m 41 years old or I’ve had a baby — whatever it is, I’ve been having a very, very, very hard time getting rid of that weight,” the Shahs of Sunset alum said via Instagram in February 2023. “I am on the weight-loss shots, honey, OK. Gharachedaghi noted she went from 137 pounds to 126 in four weeks.

“If you see people out there who just got skinny so fast all of a sudden and claimed they got healthy for the first time in their lives or that they got sober from alcohol that was causing them to gain so much weight … most likely, they’re just doing the shots,” she said. “We know who you are. We see how skinny y’all are getting. It’s not rocket science. Just saying.”

The political commentator said in February 2023 that friends had "urged" her to take Ozempic just weeks after giving birth to her second daughter, Clover. "It's horrifying, unfair and disturbing — and I refuse," she wrote in a column for the Daily Mail. "Our culture has made incredible strides towards body-type acceptance over the past few decades. She added: “You get off the drug in a year and go all the way back. You've not learned anything. You've not built any physical strength or endurance. You haven't learned how to eat healthy. The truth of the matter is, Ozempic has some pretty significant side effects. Do your homework on it. The results are not lasting, in very large part.”

After being accused of using the diabetes medicine in January 2023, the Halloween actress set the record straight.

“I have never tried ozempic and this is not from plastic surgery,” she replied to one Instagram comment at the time. “I did have a breast reduction in May. I’m honest about what I do. But if giving plastic surgery the credit makes you feel better then pop off sister 😘.”

Richards also credited her body transformation to abstaining from alcohol for several months.

In February 2023, the former Chelsea host got candid about her past experience using Ozempic.

“So my anti-aging doctor just hands it out to anybody, right? Obviously, now I can’t say her name, but I didn’t even know I was on it,” she claimed to Alex Cooper, later explaining that her friend told her what the medication was after Handler was unsure about what she was taking.

“I’m not on it anymore. That’s too irresponsible,” she clarified. “I’m an irresponsible drug user, but I’m not gonna take a diabetic drug. I tried it, and I’m not gonna do that. That’s not for me. That’s not right for me.”

Speculation sparked that the Kardashians star was taking the diabetes drug after she shared photos of her abs from a January 2023 photoshoot for Sorbet magazine. Kardashian clapped back via social media and denied that she was using Ozempic.

“Let’s not discredit my years of working out. I get up 5 days a week at 6am to train. Please stop with your assumptions,” she responded. “I guess new year still means mean people.”

The A League of Our Own actress opened up about her holiday weight loss in a January 2023 TikTok. She shared with her followers that her doctor put her on a diabetes medication called Mounjaro and a cholesterol medicine called Repatha. O’Donnell, who is diabetic, made it clear she was not on Ozempic and not taking the medicine specifically for weight loss.

“And my appetite has decreased significantly, it’s probably the meds,” she recalled at the time. “And I’m trying to move more. So you know all those things combined, that’s what it is.”

The TikToker opened up about her doctor prescribing her Ozempic during a January 2023 appearance on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast.  

"[My doctors] said I need this. And I had a lot of mixed feelings," Bader said after revealing she went on the medication because she was diagnosed as pre-diabetic in 2020. "A few months later I went off it and got into the bad binging."

She continued: "I saw a doctor and they were like, it's 100 percent because I went on Ozempic. It was making me think I wasn't hungry for so long, I lost some weight. I didn't wanna be obsessed with being on it long-term. I was like, I bet the second I got off I'm gonna get starving again. I did, and my binging got so much worse. So then I kind of blamed Ozempic. [I] gained double the weight back."

The Good Place alum got candid about her thoughts on people allegedly using Ozempic purely for weight loss.

"I have said what I have said about the potential harm of people using the diabetes medication for weight loss only. I fear for everyone in the next few years,” she wrote via Instagram in January 2023. “Rich people are buying this stuff off prescription for upwards of 1000 dollars. Actual diabetics are seeing shortages. It's a now mainstream craze in Hollywood. HOPE this doesn't end the same way we were told opioids were safe. There is little to no discussion of the side effects in any advertising online. I'm deeply concerned but I can't change any of your minds because fat phobia has our generation in a chokehold.”

Almost one year later, Jamil took to Instagram to slam the current “era of Ozempic heroin chic” in Hollywood, and opened up about her own recovery from an eating disorder.

“The amount of people in my industry just taking it to go from slim to super skinny, to finally achieve the obedient waif physique to fit the obedient sample sizes …. has been hard to watch,” she wrote via Instagram in December 2024. “Especially for those of us who have fought off eating disorders. Who are they really doing it for?”

She further noted that “curves will come back,” saying that she was “not playing with my brain, my heart, my bone density, or my metabolism for a trend.” She continued, “May I have the strength through this era of Ozempic heroin chic, in my industry to keep up this good work I did on my brain throughout 2025. I would rather leave this industry than get dragged back.”
