Doja Cat opened up about getting liposuction.
Doja, 30, got candid about going under the knife and a “disease” that runs in her family. In a clip, which she shared via TikTok on Monday, March 9, the singer shared that her mother has lipedema, which is an abnormal fat buildup on the lower body caused by a hormonal imbalance.
“When I was in my early teens, I started to develop — I always had a little waist,” Doja explained, noting that she was getting catcalls at her figure. “I had a big butt and a little waist and I always thought, ‘Damn. What’s wrong with me? Is something wrong with me? Why do people keep gawking at me?’”
She went on to say that she “didn’t like” the attention she was getting and decided to get liposuction.
“Fast forward to a few years ago, I got lipo. I got lipo on my thighs, I got it on my hips and above my butt on my lower back,” she said. “I left my butt alone but I got rid of the stuff on my thighs.” Even though she’s not “obsessed” with her ankles, she decided not to get liposuction there or on her knees.
Doja also noted that she had “no clue” that she had lipedema. “Then my butt was huge,” she laughed. “My butt was so f***ing big and then I just had these little thighs and I had to go back in because I had way too much ass. It looked like I had a BBL.”
“Anyway, went back in [and] got some out of my butt,” she added. “And now I have extra skin. All I know is I’ve been wearing a whole lot of tights on stage,” she joked, noting that she has been wrapping up in layers to “keep everything together.”
