About

Rod Stewart is a British rock singer and songwriter known for his decades-long career and hits like “Maggie May” and “Forever Young.” Stewart was raised in London as the youngest of five children. He developed an early interest in both music and soccer, later learning to play the guitar and choosing to pursue a career in music full-time.

Stewart worked odd jobs early in his career before performing with groups including the Jeff Beck Group and Faces and eventually launching a successful solo career. His 1971 album, Every Picture Tells a Story, and its single “Maggie May” propelled him to international fame, establishing him as one of the era’s leading rock artists.

Over the years, Stewart released a string of successful albums, including Blondes Have More Fun (1978) and Tonight I’m Yours (1981). He has earned 15 Grammy nominations and one win throughout his career and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. He remained a consistent presence on the charts with later projects, including It Had to Be You: The Great American Songbook (2002).

Stewart’s personal life has included several high-profile relationships and marriages. He has been married three times to Alana Stewart, Rachel Hunter and Penny Lancaster. He is the father of eight children: Sarah Streeter, Kimberly Stewart, Sean Stewart, Ruby Stewart, Renee Stewart, Liam Stewart, Alastair Stewart and Aiden Stewart.
