Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong’o earned a master’s degree from the Yale School of Drama before her breakthrough performance in the 2013 film 12 Years a Slave. Nyong’o earned an Academy Award, Critics’ Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role as Patsey in the critically acclaimed film.

Nyong’o eventually joined the Star Wars universe, playing the CGI character Maz Kanata, who first appeared in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The actress also starred in The Jungle Book (2016), Black Panther (2018), Us (2019), The 355 (2022) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). Nyong’o earned a Tony Award nomination in 2016 for her lead role in the Broadway play Eclipsed. She is also the recipient of four NAACP Image Awards.

Nyong’o sparked dating rumors with Michael B. Jordan and Jared Leto before going public with boyfriend Selema Masekela in December 2022. She announced their split in October 2023. Days later, Nyong’o was spotted with Joshua Jackson at a Janelle Monáe concert.
