
Howard Stern
Howard Stern is an American radio personality, author and television host best known for The Howard Stern Show. Stern was raised in Queens, New York, and attended Boston University, where he developed an interest in radio broadcasting and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications in 1976.
Stern’s radio experience began during his time in college, where helped run the station WTBU. He went on to work at various radio stations in the 1970s before gaining attention for his provocative on-air style. He rose to national fame in the 1980s after his show was syndicated, becoming one of the most influential and controversial figures in radio. His success led to multiple awards, including Billboard’s Nationally Syndicated Air Personality of the Year eight years in a row.
Beyond radio, Stern has authored bestselling books, including Private Parts (1993) and Miss America (1995), with the former later adapted into a 1997 feature film in which he starred. He also served as a judge on America’s Got Talent from 2012 to 2015, expanding his presence in mainstream television.
Stern married Alison Berns in 1978, and the couple share three daughters: Emily (born in 1983), Debra (born in 1986) and Ashley (born in 1993). Following their divorce in 2001, he married model and television personality Beth Ostrosky Stern in 2008.
