About

Fabrizio Moretti is a Brazilian American musician best known as the drummer for the indie rock band The Strokes. Moretti was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, spending most of his childhood in New York City. He attended Dwight School in Manhattan, where he met future bandmates Nick Valensi and Julian Casablancas. He later briefly attended SUNY New Paltz before leaving to focus on his career.

Moretti rose to fame in the early 2000s as a founding member of The Strokes, whose debut album, Is This It (2001), became a defining release of the garage rock revival. The band’s success led to international recognition, with Moretti’s drumming playing a key role in their sound. In addition to his work with The Strokes, he cofounded the band Little Joy in the early 2000s, expanding his musical reach and collaborating with other artists.

His work with The Strokes includes albums Room on Fire (2003), First Impressions of Earth (2005) and Little Joy’s self-titled record. Known for his laid-back style and artistic interests, Moretti has also explored visual art alongside his music career.

Moretti has been linked to several high-profile relationships, including past romances with Drew Barrymore and Kristen Wiig. He later moved on with Gabriella Corey.
